Monasterio is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.
Monasterio will hit the bench for the third time in four games, with each of his absences coming while Boston has faced right-handed starting pitchers. Though Monasterio appeared to have temporarily taken over as the preferred shortstop when Trevor Story (sports hernia) landed on the injured list last weekend, interim manager Chad Tracy recently said that Marcelo Mayer will become the primary option at the position. Monasterio will vie with Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Nick Sogard for playing time at second base while Mayer is occupying shortstop.

Pirates' Konnor Griffin: Idle for series finale
Griffin is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
Griffin carried an eight-game hitting streak into the weekend, but after going 0-for-7 with a walk and three strikeouts through the first two games in Toronto, he'll be rested for the series finale. Jared Triolo will replace the star rookie at shortstop and bat ninth.

Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Goes deep in Game 2 of twin bill
De La Cruz went 2-for-8 with a home run, a walk and three RBI across both games of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.
De La Cruz did all of his damage in the second of Saturday's two games, highlighted by a three-run homer in the fifth inning. It marked his ninth multi-hit effort in 21 May games, and he's now hitting .298 with 10 extra-base hits, 11 RBI and 11 runs scored during the month. For the year, the 24-year-old is slashing .288/.355/.529 with 12 home runs, 35 RBI, 37 runs scored and nine steals across 231 plate appearances.

Rockies' Ethan Holliday: Being evaluated for foot injury
Holliday hasn't played for Single-A Fresno since Wednesday due to a left foot injury, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Son of Matt, brother of Jackson and the No. 4 overall pick in 2025, Holliday has impressed so far in his first full professional season, posting a .952 OPS with nine homers and one steal across 152 plate appearances. His campaign is on hold for now, however, as the Rockies evaluate the foot injury. Holliday has not yet been placed on the injured list at Fresno.

Rangers' Corey Seager: Live BP scrapped
Seager (back) was supposed to face live pitching Sunday, but that session has been postponed, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Manager Skip Schumaker said Saturday that Seager's recovery "wasn't where we wanted it to be" after Friday's workout, and thus, plans have changed for the shortstop. "We're trying to figure out the next steps," Schumaker added. Seager now seems highly unlikely to return when first eligible, and his availability for the Rangers' upcoming homestand is in doubt.

Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Set to return Monday
Manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Hernandez (elbow) will be activated from the injured list Monday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Further, Hernandez is expected to start at third base against lefty Kyle Freeland in the series opener against Colorado, affording Max Muncy (wrist) another day of rest. Hernandez has been on the 60-day IL all season after undergoing surgery in November to repair a torn tendon in his left elbow. The three-time World Series champion and clubhouse favorite has played in 11 rehab games with Triple-A Oklahoma City, slashing .237/.326/.342 across 43 plate appearances.

Bogaerts isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Athletics.
Bogaerts will take a day to regroup Saturday after going just 1-for-17 with six strikeouts over his last five games. Sung-Mun Song will replace him as San Diego's shortstop and bat ninth.

The Diamondbacks selected Troy's contract from Triple-A Reno on Saturday.
With Lourdes Gurriel (hamstring) landing on the injured list Saturday, the Diamondbacks will call upon Troy to add depth to their position-player group. The 24-year-old has slashed .307/.397/.449 with three homers, 28 RBI, 39 runs and six steals through 205 plate appearances at Reno, and he's capable of playing in the outfield and middle infield. He'll be making his MLB debut whenever he gets into a game.

Kim has notched a base hit and scored a run in each of his last three games, but he'll take a seat on the bench Saturday while Mauricio Dubon starts at shortstop, batting seventh.

Rocchio is not in Saturday's lineup against the Phillies.
This is his first day off since May 5, as Rocchio is in the midst of a breakout season. He is slashing .291/.376/.418 with four home runs, nine steals and an 11 percent strikeout rate in 51 games. Daniel Schneemann is starting at shortstop and batting sixth against Zack Wheeler.
