The Twins placed Culpepper on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a left hamstring strain.
Culpepper tweaked his hamstring while running out a double play in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees. The strain is considered mild, giving Culpepper a chance to return for the final two games of the regular season, per Dan Hayes of The Athletic. Ben Ross is starting at shortstop for the Twins on Wednesday, and he could share the position with Ryan Kreidler while Culpepper is shelved.

Culpepper was removed from Tuesday's game against the Yankees with left hamstring tightness, Aaron Gleeman of AaronGleeman.com reports.
Culpepper seemed to be grabbing at his leg after grounding into a double play in the sixth inning, and the Twins took him out of the game at the start of the seventh. The severity of his injury is unclear, but Ryan Kreidler could benefit from extra starts if Culpepper is unable to play.

Culpepper will take over at shortstop for the Twins moving forward after slashing .271/.367/.478 with 14 homers, 46 RBI, 63 runs scored, 17 stolen bases and a 39:64 BB:K across 343 plate appearances with St. Paul this season.
