Rangers' Justin Foscue: Goes deep Thursday
Foscue went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, a walk and two total RBI in a 7-6 win against the Angels on Thursday.
Foscue logged his first hit with a 429-foot solo homer in the fourth inning. He added an RBI on a ground-rule double in the sixth. The infielder has been swinging the bat very well when given the opportunity of late, producing four multi-hit performances and a .409 average with three homers, three doubles and nine RBI across his past eight contests. He's struggled to get playing time, however, as Thursday marked his first start over the Rangers' past five games.

Rangers' Brandon Nimmo: Clubs homer, swipes bag in victory
Nimmo went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run and a stolen base in a 7-6 win against the Angels on Thursday.
Nimmo began the scoring with a solo homer off Reid Detmers in the first inning. He then beefed up his line with a single, stolen base and run scored in the third. Nimmo had been struggling coming into Thursday, going just 1-for-13 across four contests since returning to the lineup July 4 following a four-game absence due to a shoulder injury. He's produced a decent .257/.328/.416 slash line through 87 contests but has just nine home runs, 31 RBI and four thefts, well below the pace for his usual marks in those areas.

Rangers' Nathan Eovaldi: Fades late in 10-K effort
Eovaldi struck out 10 batters and allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks over six-plus innings in a no-decision against the Angels on Thursday.
Eovaldi carried a 6-1 lead into the seventh inning but saw all three batters he faced in that frame to reach base on a catcher's interference call, a walk and a single. That allowed a run to cross the plate and led to his removal, and both of the runners he turned over to the bullpen also eventually came home to score. It was a disappointing finish for the veteran hurler, but he was still credited with a quality start and was very impressive in racking up 23 whiffs en route to a season-high 10 punchouts. Eovaldi has given up three earned runs or fewer in five straight starts and has tallied a standout 43:6 K:BB across 31 innings during that span as he's finished the first half of the campaign with a flourish. Overall this season, he ranks 12th in MLB with 120 strikeouts while recording a 4.04 ERA and 1.18 WHIP across 111.1 frames spanning 18 starts.

Rangers' Cody Bradford: Resuming rehab assignment
Bradford (elbow) will resume his rehab assignment at Double-A Corpus Christi on Sunday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Coming back from an internal brace procedure, Bradford threw two innings in one rehab outing back in early April but had to be pulled off that assignment after a setback. The left-hander is ready to give it another try and is slated to pitch one inning for Corpus Christi this weekend. Assuming the Rangers still intend to bring Bradford back as a starting pitcher, he will need several weeks to rebuild his stamina.

Rangers' Elias Diaz: Taking seat Thursday
Diaz isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Angels.
Diaz will retreat to the bench Thursday after going 2-for-7 with a pair of strikeouts through the first two games of the series. Kyle Higashioka will replace him as the Rangers' backstop and bat seventh.

Rangers' Josh Jung: Back in lineup
Jung (knee) will start at third base and bat fourth Thursday against the Angels.
Knee discomfort has kept Jung out of the starting nine for Texas' last three games, but the issue appears to have subsided ahead of Thursday's series finale. The 28-year-old will aim to finish the first half strong after going 10-for-28 (.357) with a homer, three RBI and four runs scored in his last seven games before getting hurt.

Rangers' Josh Smith: Demoted to minors again
The Rangers optioned Smith to Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.
Smith went 6-for-21 with a home run and a triple in six games since returning from an earlier stint in the minors, but it wasn't enough to keep him from getting sent back down. The transaction clears a spot on the active roster for the return of Wyatt Langford from the injured list.

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Activated from injured list
The Rangers activated Langford (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Thursday.
Langford is skipping a rehab assignment and will go directly back onto the Rangers' active roster after missing just shy of two weeks due to a strained left hamstring. He will serve as the designated hitter and bat second in Thursday's game against the Angels.

Rangers' Kyle Higashioka: Pops homer in loss
Higashioka went 1-for-1 with a solo home run as a pinch hitter in Wednesday's 13-1 loss to the Angels.
Higashioka popped the homer in the eighth inning to get the Rangers on the board. He stayed in the game as the pitcher, allowing two runs on two hits and a hit batsman in mop-up duty during the blowout loss. Higashioka has gone 8-for-37 with two homers and a 5:9 BB:K over his last 14 contests, but he's in the backup role behind Elias Diaz while Danny Jansen (forearm) remains out. On the year, Higashioka is batting .223 with a .672 OPS, six homers, 16 RBI, 18 runs scored and three doubles over 166 plate appearances.

Rangers' MacKenzie Gore: Torched for seven runs
Gore (5-8) allowed seven runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out seven over five innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Angels.
Gore has allowed four or more runs in four of his last seven outings, taking a loss in each of those four instances. The left-hander was tagged for a pair of home runs by Jo Adell, which accounted for five of the seven runs. Gore is now at a 4.72 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 111:40 K:BB through 101 innings over 19 starts this season.

Rangers' Danny Jansen: Resumes throwing
Jansen (forearm) played catch Wednesday for the first time in two weeks, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Jansen noted that the plan for him moving forward is to throw every other day and see how his right forearm responds. He has been on the 10-day injured list since June 6 due to a right forearm strain, which has allowed Elias Diaz to surpass Kyle Higashioka as the Rangers' primary catcher in Jansen's absence.

Rangers' Josh Jung: Remains out for third straight game
Jung (knee) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.
The Rangers will keep Jung on the bench for a third straight game while he tends to knee discomfort, which stemmed from him fouling a ball off himself during Saturday's loss to the Tigers. Ezequiel Duran will get the start at third base in place of Jung, whom the Rangers are viewing as day-to-day while he continues to receive treatment for the injured knee. Per Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com, Jung is available off the bench as a pinch hitter for Wednesday's game.

Rangers' Alejandro Osuna: Cranks first homer
Osuna went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run, an additional run and a walk Tuesday in an 8-3 victory against the Angels.
With Texas holding a 5-3 lead in the eighth inning, Osuna broke things open by belting a 364-foot, three-run blast to right field. It was his first homer of the campaign in his 57th game. Osuna went deep just twice across 63 regular-season contests last year, so he's clearly not someone to expect big power from, though he did hit 18 homers in 102 contests across two minor-league levels in 2024. He profiles as a light-hitting contact bat in the majors, and through 182 plate appearances this season he's slashing .252/.343/.296 with four doubles, 20 runs, 18 RBI, four stolen bases and a 15:25 BB:K.
