Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Walk-off blast ends power drought

Marte went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Giants.

Marte had gone 16 games without a homer entering Tuesday. He was 0-for-4 before coming to bat in the ninth inning, when he delivered the walk-off blast against Matt Gage. Marte struggled early in May, but he's gone 10-for-37 (.270) while hitting safely in seven of his last nine games. The second baseman is batting .222 with a .655 OPS, six homers, 20 RBI, 24 runs scored, six doubles, two triples and no stolen bases over 44 contests this season.

  • Ezequiel Duran 2B | TEX

Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Remains hot Tuesday with four RBI

Duran went 3-for-5 with two doubles and four RBI against Colorado on Tuesday in a 10-0 win.

Duran made another start at shortstop in place of the injured Corey Seager (back) before shifting over to third base late in the game. The utility man opened the scoring with a two-run double in the first inning and added another two-run double to cap the scoring in the eighth. Duran has gone 6-for-9 with six RBI over his past two games and is hitting .308 with two homers, six doubles, 11 runs, 13 RBI and a stolen base through 17 contests in May.

  • Brice Turang 2B | MIL

Brewers' Brice Turang: Homers during three-hit performance

Turang went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Cubs.

Turang continued his strong 2026 campaign by launching a two-run homer off Trent Thornton in the eighth inning to cap off a three-hit night. The blast was his seventh of the season, and the three-hit performance marked his fifth such game of the year. Over his last 20 contests, Turang is batting 23-for-72 (.319) with an outstanding .424 OBP as he continues to reach base at an elite clip. The second baseman is now batting .292 alongside a .910 OPS with 10 doubles, 29 RBI, 39 runs scored and nine stolen bases across 198 plate appearances.

  • JJ Wetherholt 2B | STL

Cardinals' JJ Wetherholt: Clubs ninth long ball

Wetherholt went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional run and a walk in a 9-6 extra-inning win against the Pirates on Tuesday.

Wetherholt opened the scoring in the contest with a two-run blast to center field in the third inning. The talented rookie came into Tuesday without a hit over his past three games, but he's now reached base in 10 consecutive contests, tallying a 7:9 BB:K over that span. Wetherholt is enjoying a fine first MLB campaign, slashing .239/.362/.420 with nine home runs, 35 runs, 24 RBI and five stolen bases through 46 games.

  • Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA

Marlins' Xavier Edwards: Power surge continues

Edwards went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-4 loss to Atlanta.

Edwards opened the scoring for Miami by taking Martin Perez deep to lead off the bottom of the first inning. It was his second straight game with a homer, and over his last 12 games the typically light-hitting second baseman is batting .304 (14-for-46) with four homers, two steals, seven RBI and 12 runs.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Reaches three times in loss

Hoerner went 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Brewers.

Hoerner tallied his first multi-hit effort since May 10, and in seven games since then, he had gone just 4-for-28 before Tuesday's encouraging performance. It's been a struggle all month for the speedy infielder, who ended April batting .291 but is now down to .264. Hoerner still offers plenty of run-scoring potential atop Chicago's lineup along with the ability to swipe a base, and he's too good of a hitter to stay down for long.

  • Oliver Dunn 2B | CHW

Rays' Oliver Dunn: Dealt to Rays

The White Sox traded Dunn to the Rays on Tuesday in exchange for Joe Rock.

Dunn doesn't own a 40-man roster spot, though he may soon receive one from the Rays after slashing .296/.397/.533 with eight homers, 33 RBI 31 runs scored and nine steals through 40 games at Triple-A Charlotte. Until then, he'll fill in as organizational infield depth at Durham.

  • Luke Keaschall 2B | MIN

Twins' Luke Keaschall: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Keaschall is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros.

Keaschall has an .813 OPS with an 11:10 BB:K through 15 games in May but will take a seat for Tuesday's contest. Byron Buxton (hip) is serving as the designated hitter, pushing Josh Bell to first base and Kody Clemens to second.

  • Ernie Clement 2B | TOR

Blue Jays' Ernie Clement: Dealing with strep throat

Clement has strep throat and is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.

Clement started the previous 15 games but will hit the bench after feeling the strep symptoms come on Monday. Davis Schneider is stepping in at second base Tuesday for Toronto.

  • Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Batting seventh in season debut

Holliday will start at second base and bat seventh in Tuesday's game versus the Rays.

It will be the season debut with the Orioles for Holliday, who had right hamate bone surgery in February before encountering multiple setbacks. Per Andy Kostka of TheBanner.com, Holliday said he still feels a bit of soreness in his hand, but he's been told that's normal and it will eventually go away. Holliday was the Orioles' leadoff hitter for the bulk of last season, but he will slide into the No. 7 spot as the club eases him back into things. The 22-year-old slashed only .176/.291/.284 on his rehab assignment, though he reached base seven times and had one homer in his final four rehab games.
