Marlins' Otto Lopez: Smacks solo homer Tuesday

Lopez went 2-for-5 with a solo home run during Miami's 7-3 win over Washington on Tuesday.

The Marlins hit three consecutive home runs off Miles Mikolas in the fifth inning, capped off by Lopez's solo shot, which was his fifth deep ball of the season and first since May 5 against the Orioles. Over his last seven games, Lopez has gone 10-for-28 (.357) with two steals, three RBI and two extra-base hits.

  • Trey Sweeney SS | DET

    Tigers' Trey Sweeney: Shut down

Sweeney (shoulder) is dealing with a rotator cuff issue and has been shut down from baseball activities to be evaluated, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Sweeney has been on the shelf all season due to a shoulder strain he sustained at the start of spring training, and the rotator cuff issue will extend his absence. It's not clear how much longer the 25-year-old will be sidelined, but he seems unlikely to be rejoining the Tigers anytime soon.

  • White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Taking seat Tuesday

Montgomery is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.

Montgomery started the previous 17 games and will receive a day off after going 15-for-66 (.227 average) with three doubles, four homers and a 31.5 percent strikeout rate during that span. Luisangel Acuna is picking up a start at shortstop Tuesday for the White Sox.

  • Zachary Neto SS | LAA

Angels' Zach Neto: Sitting again Tuesday

Neto (neck) isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Neto will miss a second consecutive start after being scratched from Monday's lineup due to whiplash following his collision at the plate Saturday. Oswald Peraza will pick up another start at shortstop and bat seventh with Neto out.

  • Taylor Walls SS | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Walls (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.

The shortstop was removed from Monday's game as a precautionary measure due to hamstring tightness, and he'll be held out of the starting nine for at least one game. Ben Williamson is stepping in at shortstop Tuesday in Walls' stead.

  • Astros' Braden Shewmake: Out with adductor strain

The Astros placed Shewmake on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a right adductor strain.

Shewmake suffered the injury during Saturday's game versus the Brewers and was unable to make enough improvement to avoid the IL. He'll be eligible to return in mid-June, but it's the type of injury that could lead to an absence longer than the minimum.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Astros' Carlos Correa: Moved to 60-day IL

The Astros transferred Correa (ankle) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

The transaction frees a spot on the 40-man roster for Josh Hader (biceps), who was activated from the 60-day IL on Tuesday. Correa is out for the season following surgery last month to repair the tendon in his left ankle.

  • Diamondbacks' Demetrio Crisantes: Rejoining Amarillo lineup

Double-A Amarillo reinstated Crisantes (hamstring) from its 7-day injured list Tuesday.

Crisantes is set to make his 2026 debut for Amarillo after a hamstring injury kept him out for most of the first two months of the minor-league season. The 21-year-old infielder was cleared to return to action for the Double-A club after he went 5-for-20 with two home runs, a double and six walks across seven rehab games between the Diamondbacks' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate and High-A Hillsboro.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Rangers' Corey Seager: Cleared for rehab assignment

The Rangers sent Seager (back) to Double-A Frisco on Tuesday to begin a rehab assignment.

Seager's recovery from lower-back inflammation has come along more slowly than anticipated, but he's finally been cleared to test himself in a game setting. As long as he's able to avoid setbacks, Seager should be ready to rejoin the Rangers' active roster later this week. He's been on the shelf since mid-May due to the injury.

  • Tigers' Kevin McGonigle: Getting rare day off Tuesday

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said on MLB Network Radio that McGonigle will not be in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Rays, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

It's the first day off since May 4 for McGonigle, who is slashing only .238/.350/.295 since the beginning of May. The Rays are starting southpaw Steven Matz on Tuesday, and the left-handed-hitting McGonigle is sporting a .698 OPS versus lefties (as compared to an .838 OPS against righties).
