Seager went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Angels.
Seager accounted for both of the Rangers' extra-base hits and nearly half of their seven knocks overall. The shortstop has three multi-hit efforts over 11 games since returning from a back injury, batting .293 (12-for-41) in that span. Seager gave Texas breathing room in the eighth inning when he clouted a three-run homer. The home run and RBI were his first since being activated off the injured list July 31. The shortstop has gone 8-for-24 with three walks and four runs scored over seven contests since his activation.

The Rangers reinstated Seager from the 10-day injured list Friday.
Seager landed on the IL on July 1 with a back injury and will return to action exactly 30 days later after being activated Friday. The 32-year-old has slashed a career-worst .182/.292/.374 with 10 home runs and 25 RBI in 219 plate appearances this season. Texas optioned Josh Smith to Triple-A to make room for Seager on the active roster.

Seager played his second and possibly final game of a rehab assignment. He's played shortstop in back-to-back games for the RoughRiders, getting six plate appearances while playing five innings at shortstop in both contests. Per Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News, Seager is expected to get a day of rest Thursday before rejoining the Rangers for this weekend's series against the Astros.

Seager (back) started at shortstop and went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run for Double-A Frisco on Tuesday.
Seager began a rehab assignment with Frisco and gave the RoughRiders a 2-1 lead with a solo homer in the fifth inning. His night was over after he played five innings in the field, which is normal in a player's first rehab game. The back didn't appear to be an issue for Seager, who had to range far to his right to scoop a grounder and get the final out of the third inning, Theo DeRosa of MLB.com reports. Seager is expected to play at least one more game for Frisco, after which he could be activated.

Rangers' Corey Seager: Poised to return Friday
Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young said Thursday that Seager (back) is on track to be activated from the 10-day injured list before Friday's game in Houston, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Seager has played two rehab games with Double-A Frisco this week, and as long as he bounces back physically with no concerns, he'll be reinstated to the active roster this weekend. The veteran shortstop has been sidelined since early July with lower-back inflammation.

Seager may not need much action in the minors before rejoining the Rangers, so he could be back from the injured list before the end of the week.

Seager (back) said that he completed a "higher-volume" live batting practice session Sunday and will repeat the activity again Monday before likely heading out on a rehab assignment, Matthew Postins of SI.com reports.
Seager received the equivalent of about four at-bats against live pitching Friday, but he said that he wants to take live BP on consecutive days before moving on to the final step in his recovery from lower back inflammation, which sent him to the injured list July 1. Assuming all goes well Monday, Seager will report to one of the Rangers' affiliates for game action. The veteran shortstop may need just one game on the farm before being cleared to return from the IL, perhaps as soon as Friday's series opener in Houston.
