  • White Sox's Erick Fedde: Following opener Friday

Fedde will server as the White Sox's primary pitcher in Friday's contest against the Tigers, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Chicago will deploy a lefty opener in Brandon Eisert before turning things over to the righty Fedde to handle the bulk of the innings. Fedde's last outing was as a bulk reliever and it didn't go well, as he was bludgeoned for eight runs on 10 hits and two walks over 3.1 innings in a loss to the Giants.

  • White Sox's Brandon Eisert: Will open for ChiSox on Friday

Eisert will serve as the White Sox's opening pitcher in Friday's game versus the Tigers, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Eisert will cover the first inning or two for the White Sox before handing things off to primary pitcher Erick Fedde. The left-handed Eisert has allowed five runs with an 8:5 K:BB over nine frames out of the Chicago bullpen this season.

  • White Sox's Randal Grichuk: Draws start against righty

Grichuk went 1-for-4 with a double and three RBI on Thursday against the Twins.

Grichuk delivered a bases-clearing double in the third inning, capping off a four-run inning for the White Sox. He started his second straight game -- only the second time he's done that this season -- and only his third against a right-handed starter. Grichuk has a limited sample of only 71 plate appearances, but he now has four home runs, 13 runs scored and 15 RBI while hitting .269.

  • White Sox's Colson Montgomery: Three straight multi-hit games

Montgomery went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored Thursday against the Twins.

Montgomery knocked in a run with a single in the first inning and tallied another base hit two frames later. The effort marked his third straight start with multiple hits, and he's gone 6-for-14 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in that span. Even given that hot stretch, Montgomery is hitting only .209 with a 35.4 percent strikeout rate across his last 11 games.

  • White Sox's Tristan Peters: Posts three hits Thursday

Peters went 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI in a 6-2 win against the Twins on Thursday.

Peters plated a run on an infield single in the third inning. He finished with multiple knocks for the second straight game, with his three hits Thursday tying a season-high mark. Peters continues to handle a near-everyday role in center field for Chicago. Through 25 contests in May, he's batting .275 with two home runs, six doubles, 12 runs, 10 RBI and a stolen base while posting an 8:13 BB:K.

  • White Sox's Davis Martin: Pushes record to 8-1

Martin (8-1) earned the win over Minnesota on Thursday, allowing one run on two hits and two walks while striking out five batters over six innings.

Martin breezed through four scoreless frames before yielding a run on a walk and a double in the fifth. That was the only tally the Twins were able to put on the board against the right-hander, who picked up his third victory in as many starts. Martin induced 14 whiffs and struck out five batters en route to his fourth quality start across his past five outings. He's come into his own this season and has emerged as an ace for a promising White Sox squad, as he's tied for second in the majors with eight wins while posting a 2.00 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 71:14 K:BB through 67.2 innings. Martin is lined up to make his next start on the road in a rematch with Minnesota.

  • White Sox's Edgar Quero: Scores three runs

Quero went 2-for-3 with an RBI, three runs scored and a walk Wednesday against the Twins.

Quero entered the game having collected only one hit across 11 at-bats in his last six contests. He snapped out of that slump with singles in the second and seventh innings, and he came around to score on each occasion. Quero lost out on playing time to Drew Romo for much of May, but the two have alternated starts across the last 10 days.

  • White Sox's Randal Grichuk: Big showing in blowout win

Grichuk went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored Wednesday against the Twins.

Grichuk remains stuck on the small side of a platoon in right field, but he managed his third multi-hit performance of the season. He delivered an RBI single in the fifth inning, kicking off a four-run rally in the frame, and he added another run-scoring hit one inning later. Grichuk has only 67 plate appearances on the season, but he's maintained a .270 batting average and .524 slugging percentage to go along with four homers, 13 runs scored and 12 RBI.

  • White Sox's Sam Antonacci: Season-high three hits Wednesday

Antonacci went 3-for-4 with a walk, three RBI and two runs scored Wednesday against the Twins.

Antonacci delivered the first three-hit game of his MLB career Wednesday, tallying three singles that drove in two runs in the second and one more in the fifth. The 23-year-old now has 22 runs scored through 38 games. The rookie's strong contact and on-base skills (.287 average and .389 on-base percentage) have vaulted him up to the leadoff spot, where he's made his past eight starts.

  • White Sox's Chase Meidroth: Crushes grand slam in win

Meidroth went 2-for-5 with a grand slam in Wednesday's 15-2 win versus the Twins.

Meidroth expanded the White Sox's lead to 12 with his seventh-inning grand slam off Travis Adams. The 24-year-old has already matched his home-run total from last season over 122 games through just 52 contests, while also raising his OPS from last season's .649 to .739. It was also Meidroth's first career grand slam.

  • White Sox's Munetaka Murakami: Hits 20th home run in win

Murakami went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a stolen base in Wednesday's win against the Twins.

Murakami has now homered in three straight games, with Wednesday's round-tripper a seventh-inning blast to left center off Travis Adams. It marked Murakami's eighth home run of the month and tied him for the American League lead with 20 on the season. The 26-year old is now slashing .240/.375/.561 with 40 RBI and 42 runs scored, but he also has 78 strikeouts in 240 plate appearances. The MLB rookie also picked up his first career stolen base earlier in the game.

  • White Sox's David Sandlin: Wins in MLB debut

Sandlin (1-0) got the win Wednesday against the Twins, allowing one run on one hit and no walks with four strikeouts across six innings.

Sandlin stunned in his professional baseball debut as he retired every batter he faced (18 straight) after giving up a leadoff home run to Byron Buxton. The rookie took the rotation spot of Noah Schultz (knee) after the latter was placed on the 15-day injured list and was highly efficient, needing only 61 pitches (41 strikes) to get through six innings. Sandlin did not cover more than four innings in any of his last four Triple-A starts, but he was able to notch a quality start Wednesday. The 25-year-old is projected to next take the mound in a rematch against the Twins next week.

  • White Sox's Rikuu Nishida: Hitting bench after pair of starts

Nishida is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.

The White Sox will shield the left-handed-hitting Nishida from Twins southpaw Connor Prielipp and will go with Randal Grichuk in right field in place of the rookie. After being called up from Triple-A Charlotte on Monday, Nishida opened his MLB career with a pair of starts against Minnesota and went 2-for-7 with a run scored between those contests. Nishida looks like he'll get a look as a strong-side platoon outfielder after the White Sox designated Jarred Kelenic for assignment Monday.

  • White Sox's Tristan Peters: Idle against lefty

Peters is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.

He had been included in the lineup the last time the White Sox faced a lefty starter (the Giants' Robbie Ray) on Sunday, but the left-handed-hitting Peters will bow out of the starting nine Wednesday while southpaw Connor Prielipp takes the hill for Minnesota. Luisangel Acuna will receive the nod in center field in place of Peters.

  • White Sox's Drew Romo: Resting up Wednesday

Romo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.

Romo will retreat to the bench after he started behind the plate in the first two games of the series and went 1-for-7 with a home run and two RBI between those contests. Edgar Quero will handle catching duties Wednesday, forming a battery with right-hander David Sandlin.

  • White Sox's Munetaka Murakami: Launches 19th homer of season

Murakami went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's extra-innings loss to the Twins.

Murakami blasted his 19th homer of the season with a rocket to right, and he ranks second in the majors in that category, trailing only Kyle Schwarber. The power is real for Murakami, who has an outstanding .313 ISO and .917 OPS in 54 games this season. He's the definition of a three-true-outcomes hitter, as he also has 77 strikeouts and 41 walks across 235 plate appearances. He's either homered, struck out or walked in nearly 59 percent of his plate appearances this season.
