Rodriguez (4-8) took the loss Friday against the Twins after allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out four without a walk over 6.2 innings. He also hit a batter.

Rodriguez settled down after allowing two runs in the first inning, keeping Minnesota off the board over his next five frames. However, he allowed another run when rookie Walker Jenkins homered in the seventh before Rodriguez departed with two outs. This was Rodriguez's first quality start since Aug. 20, when he earned a win over the Astros, but he's gone 0-3 with a 4.88 ERA and a 1.55 WHIP across 27.2 innings since then. He's expected to make his final start of the season Thursday on the road against the Mariners.

Prielipp (6-7) earned the win Friday against the Angels after tossing seven scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out eight.

Prielipp delivered one of the most polished outings of his young career, setting a career high with seven innings while throwing 60 of 92 pitches for strikes. The eight punchouts were his best output in that category since he struck out 10 in a no-decision against the Rockies on June 28. He's now given up three runs or fewer in each of his last five appearances, posting a 2.70 ERA with a 24:4 K:BB in 26.2 innings over that stretch. He's expected to make his next start Friday at home against the Rangers.

Lambert (8-10) took the loss Friday against Atlanta after allowing two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out six across 5.1 innings.

Lambert kept Atlanta scoreless through three innings before Matt Olson singled and Michael Harris launched a two-run homer in the fourth. Lambert departed with the bases loaded and one out in the sixth, but AJ Blubaugh escaped the jam to keep Lambert's line intact. Lambert is winless in his last 12 starts, going 0-5 with a 4.43 ERA and 1.37 WHIP across 65 innings in that stretch. He's expected to make his next start on the road against the Athletics on Thursday.

Woo did not factor into the decision in Friday's 5-4 win over the Rockies, allowing three runs on 10 hits and one walk with four strikeouts over 5.1 innings.

Woo departed with a 3-2 lead after yielding a one-out single in the sixth inning, but the inherited runner came around to score in the frame. The 26-year-old battled despite yielding a season-high 10 hits, though he snapped a streak of three consecutive quality starts to open September. He'll carry a 3.92 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 167:36 K:BB across 167.2 innings this year into one final home matchup with the Angels next week.

Rocker did not factor into the decision in Friday's 7-1 win over the Blue Jays, allowing one run on three hits and two walks with two strikeouts over 4.1 innings.

Rocker opened with four scoreless frames before allowing a run in the fifth, throwing 48 of 76 pitches for strikes with only six whiffs. It's clear the Rangers are being cautious with the 26-year-old down the stretch, as he hasn't reached the 80-pitch mark in any of his three September outings. He'll carry a 4.47 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 134:59 K:BB across 143 innings this season into one final home matchup with the Mets next week.

Cease (11-6) took the loss against the Rangers on Friday, allowing four runs (one earned) on three hits and six walks with three strikeouts over 2.2 innings.

Cease allowed four runs in the second inning, three of which crossed home after a throw by Ernie Clement hit a baserunner. Bad luck aside, the 30-year-old Cease threw just 36 of 74 pitches for strikes and has now issued 11 walks over his last two outings while failing to pitch beyond the fifth frame in any of his past three starts. He owns a 2.40 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 239:78 K:BB across 169 innings this season and will try to finish what has been a stellar campaign strong in a road matchup with the Orioles next week.

Sandlin did not factor into the decision in Friday's 11-8 loss to the Tigers, allowing five runs on seven hits and one walk with four strikeouts over four innings.

Sandlin was spotted an early lead but was unable to record an out in a three-run fifth inning. The 25-year-old threw 48 of 74 pitches for strikes with nine whiffs in just his second start since the All-Star break. He owns a bloated 6.29 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 33:13 K:BB across 34.1 major-league innings this season and lines up to make one more start on the road against Kansas City next week.

Sears did not factor into the decision in Friday's 11-8 win over the White Sox, allowing six unearned runs on one hit and three walks while recording two outs in the first inning. He did not register a strikeout.

Sears lacked command but was a victim of poor defense, as the Tigers made two errors with two outs before he surrendered a bases-clearing double. In five games (three starts) with the Tigers, the 24-year-old owns a 5.19 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 13:7 K:BB across 17.1 innings. With Jack Flaherty (forearm) potentially returning before the end of the season, it's unclear what Sears' role will be in his next appearance.

Cole (9-9) allowed two runs on four hits and struck out six without walking a batter over six innings to earn the win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Cole served up a two-run home run to Corbin Carroll in the second inning but was otherwise successful at limiting the damage. The long ball has been a problem for Cole lately -- he's allowed 10 homers over his last six starts, giving up a total of 18 runs across 34.2 innings in that span. For the season, he's at a 3.63 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 123:22 K:BB through 121.1 innings over 21 starts. Cole is lined up for one more regular-season start at home against the Rays next week, which also positions him to be on the hill if the Yankees end up playing in the wild-card round.

Cantillo (10-9) earned the win against the Athletics on Friday, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out five across six innings.

Daniel Espino served as Cleveland's opener Friday, though he gave up a three-run home run to Zack Gelof in the first inning. Cantillo was brought out for the second frame, and the 26-year-old southpaw proceeded to keep the Athletics off the board over the next six innings while limiting the A's to only three baserunners. He's tossed two consecutive scoreless outings, and overall Cantillo has a 3.74 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 167:79 K:BB across 154 innings this season. He figures to make his next appearance -- as a starter or otherwise -- next week against the Red Sox at Fenway Park in his final outing of the regular season.
