Mariners' Ryan Sloan: Promotion not imminent
Sloan is not part of the Mariners' "immediate plans," Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Sloan's 4.44 ERA at Double-A Arkansas is a tad bloated thanks to a couple clunkers, but he boasts a 58:12 K:BB over 46.2 innings in his 11 starts. The 20-year-old right-hander is in the Mariners' plans for later this summer, per Jude, but Seattle already has six viable starting pitchers at the major-league level and fellow prospect Kade Anderson could also be ahead of Sloan in the pecking order.

Mariners' Kade Anderson: Not in immediate plans for Mariners
Anderson is not part of the Mariners' "immediate plans," Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Anderson's first 11 starts in pro ball couldn't have gone much better, as he's collected a microscopic 1.13 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 82:7 K:BB over 55.2 innings with Double-A Arkansas. However, while the Mariners do expect Anderson to contribute in the majors at some point this season, a big-league debut for the top prospect is not imminent. Seattle already has six capable starting pitchers at the major-league level, complicating the timeline for Anderson's debut, but there could come a point when the southpaw forces the issue.

Mariners' Patrick Wisdom: Optioned to Triple-A
The Mariners optioned Wisdom to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.
After making five straight starts at third base, Wisdom was absent from the lineup for each of the past four games. A corresponding roster move -- which is expected to be J.P. Crawford (hand) being activated from the injured list -- will be announced prior to Tuesday's contest versus the Orioles.

Mariners' Domingo Gonzalez: Clears waivers
The Mariners outrighted Gonzalez to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.
Gonzalez will remain part of the Seattle organization, but he no longer possesses a spot on the 40-man roster after getting designated for assignment and clearing waivers. The 26-year-old righty has made five appearances out of the Mariners bullpen this season, logging a 4.70 ERA, 1.83 WHIP and 5:5 K:BB in 7.2 innings.

Mariners' Grant Knipp: Makes full-season debut
Knipp (elbow) was assigned to Single-A Inland Empire on June 5 and made his debut for the affiliate a day later, striking out a batter and scattering one hit and two walks over a scoreless inning.
Knipp hasn't pitched for Inland Empire since making his debut, though it's unclear if his absence over the past week was the result of a setback or simply part of a workload-management plan coming off Tommy John surgery, which he underwent in early 2025. Before joining Inland Empire, Knipp made six appearances in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, where he turned in a 5.68 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 10:2 K:BB over 6.1 innings.

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Activation from IL imminent
Raleigh (oblique) is expected to be reinstated from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's game against the Orioles, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Seattle is poised to get some major reinforcement to the lineup ahead of its six-game week, as infielder J.P. Crawford (hand) is also on track to return from the IL on Tuesday. Coming off last season's runner-up finish in the AL MVP race, Raleigh has been a major disappointment so far in 2026 with a lowly .560 OPS in 41 games before he landed on the IL on May 14 due to a right oblique strain. On an encouraging note, Raleigh looked to be dialed in at the dish during his five-game rehab assignment between High-A Everett and Triple-A Tacoma, reaching base in every contest while going a collective 7-for-17 with five home runs and a 2:3 BB:K. He should step back in immediately as Seattle's No. 1 catcher after the Mariners had been leaning on timeshare of Jhonny Pereda and Mitch Garver behind the plate over the past month.

Mariners' Emerson Hancock: Rare letdown in third loss
Hancock (5-3) took the loss Sunday against the Nationals, allowing six runs on nine hits and no walks in four innings. He struck out four.
Four of the hits allowed went for extra bases in what was Hancock's season-worst outing virtually across the board. The 27-year-old right-hander gave up a season-high six runs and nine hits, also fanning a season-low two in his shortest start of the year. Hancock will try to flush Sunday's outing in his next scheduled appearance at home against Boston, and he still holds a strong 3.28 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 75:17 K:BB over 79.2 frames.

Mariners' Josh Naylor: X-rays return negative
Naylor had X-rays on his right shin come back negative after leaving Sunday's loss to the Nationals, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Naylor was forced from Sunday's contest after fouling a pitch off himself, but he appears to have escaped with a bruise. The 28-year-old went 1-for-3 before his exit and is batting .250 (12-for-48) with two doubles, three homers, a steal, eight RBI and seven runs through 12 games in June. Naylor will have Monday's team off day to aid in his recovery before Tuesday's series opener versus Baltimore.

Mariners' Andres Munoz: Battling tight back
Munoz was removed from Sunday's game against the Nationals due to lower-back tightness, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
The Mariners closer entered for the ninth inning of a 7-1 game since he hadn't pitched in nearly a week, and he allowed both batters he faced to reach before departing with the injury. The initial diagnosis is encouraging since it's not an arm issue, and Munoz should be considered day-to-day heading into Tuesday's series opener versus Baltimore

Mariners' Andres Munoz: Departs with apparent injury
Munoz was removed from Sunday's game against the Nationals due to an apparent injury, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Making his first appearance in nearly a week, Munoz allowed a hit and a walk on nine pitches before exiting the contest with training staff. It's the second notable injury of the day for Seattle, which also saw Josh Naylor (shin) depart after fouling a pitch off himself.

Mariners' Josh Naylor: Exits with injury
Naylor was removed from Sunday's game against the Nationals due to an apparent right shin injury, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
The 28-year-old fouled a pitch off himself during the top of the sixth inning and stayed in to finish his at-bat, but he was replaced by Patrick Wisdom at first base for the bottom of the frame. Naylor went 1-for-3 with a double prior to leaving the contest and should be considered day-to-day heading into Tuesday's series opener versus the Orioles.

Mariners' Patrick Wisdom: Back in bench role
Wisdom is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
After making five consecutive starts and going 2-for-18 with two walks and a run, Wisdom has been relegated to the bench for the Mariners' subsequent four contests. Miles Mastrobuoni has been the main option at third base since coming off the 60-day injured list Wednesday, but he'll shift into a utility role once J.P. Crawford (hand) makes his return from the 10-day IL on Tuesday. When Crawford gets activated, Wisdom could be at risk of being pushed off the roster.

Mariners' Miles Mastrobuoni: Drawing fifth straight start
Mastrobuoni will start at third base and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Nationals.
Since being reinstated from the 60-day injured list Wednesday, Mastrobuoni has gotten five straight starts (four at third base, one at second) while going 3-for-13 with a walk, a stolen base, two runs and an RBI. His run of regular playing time will likely come to an end Tuesday, however, with J.P. Crawford (hand) set to return from the 10-day IL and bump Mastrobuoni into a utility role.

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Plans to return from IL on Tuesday
Crawford (hand) said he expects to be activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday when first eligible, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Crawford landed on the IL on June 8 due to a right hand contusion and won't need to go on a rehab assignment prior to being activated. The long-time shortstop has taken grounders almost exclusively at third base in pregame workouts during the Mariners' current road trip, strongly suggesting rookie Colt Emerson will continue playing regularly at shortstop when Crawford returns. The veteran infielder could face more of a squeeze for playing time once Brendan Donovan (groin/adductor) also returns from the IL.

Mariners' Randy Arozarena: Remaining on bench Sunday
Arozarena (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals.
Luke Raley will draw another start in left field while the Mariners keep Arozarena on the bench for a second straight game due to left hamstring soreness. Per MLB.com, Arozarena went through strength tests that indicated an MRI wouldn't be necessary, and he'll likely avoid a stint on the injured list. He'll benefit from a team off day Monday before the Mariners open a three-game home set versus the Orioles on Tuesday.

Mariners' Luis Castillo: Fans four in sixth loss
Castillo (2-6) took the loss Saturday against the Nationals, allowing five runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks in 5.2 innings. He struck out four.
A throwing error by Josh Naylor kept three earned runs of Castillo's ledger, but Washington got to the hurler for two more runs in the fifth frame. The 33-year-old right-hander has worked at least four innings while yielding two earned runs or fewer in four consecutive outings, so he's performing a bit better as of late. Castillo will try to further improve on a 5.00 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 65:25 K:BB over 66.2 innings into his next scheduled appearance against Boston.
