Barnett allowed four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out eight over six innings in a no-decision versus the Astros on Thursday.

Barnett gave up a three-run home run to Lucas Spence and a solo shot to Isaac Paredes. The 25-year-old Barnett was most effective as a reliever this year while struggling in a starting role later in the campaign. He will likely end 2026 with a 7.02 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 50:30 K:BB over 50 innings across 20 games (six starts). He'll have minimal fantasy appeal as long as he's calling Sutter Health Park his home field in the majors.

Abreu allowed a hit and a walk over 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the save in Thursday's 7-5 win over the Athletics.

Josh Hader took the loss in a 44-pitch appearance Wednesday, which is why Abreu got the ball Thursday. Abreu has remained steady in September, allowing just three runs over 10 innings with a 12:2 K:BB this month. On the year, the veteran reliever has a 3.73 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 80:41 K:BB while converting nine of 11 save chances and adding 16 holds across 62.2 innings.

Saturday's game has been rescheduled as part of a doubleheader Friday due to a forecast of sustained inclement weather in the northeast. The 27-year-old righty put together a nice season at Triple-A, going 10-2 with a 2.93 ERA and 1.06 WHIP over 135.1 innings.

The Yankees optioned Hanner to the rookie-level Florida Complex League following Thursday's 6-4 victory over the Rays.

Hanner earned his first major-league win Thursday, allowing two hits without a walk or a strikeout over two scoreless innings. However, he still has an 8.59 ERA with the big club, and the Yankees need a fresh arm or two after Saturday's game against Baltimore was rescheduled as part of a day-night doubleheader Friday.

Seymour took a no-decision Thursday against the Yankees, striking out three while allowing one hit and no walks in five shutout innings.

Seymour cruised Thursday, holding the Yankees to an innocuous single in a dominant start. With Shane McClanahan (forearm) ruled out for the American League Division Series, Seymour's presence on the postseason pitching staff has become ever more important. It's worth noting Seymour fared slightly better out of the bullpen as opposed to the rotation -- the southpaw ends the regular season with a 3.90 ERA and 1.12 WHIP in 55.1 innings as a reliever versus a 4.44 ERA and 1.14 WHIP over 77 innings as a starter.

Bello will start Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader against the Cubs, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Bello will get another turn in the rotation after tossing eight innings of one-run ball, allowing five hits while striking out 11 batters Saturday versus the Rays. The right-handed pitcher has compiled a 2.28 ERA and 1.01 WHIP with 46 strikeouts over 51.1 innings in his last 13 appearances with Boston.

Gamboa will operate as the opening pitcher for the Red Sox in Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader against the Cubs, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Gamboa will garner his third start of the season, albeit in a non-traditional fashion once again. The southpaw pitcher has produced a 1.16 ERA and 1.06 WHIP over 31 innings in 20 appearances, including two starts, with Boston this season. It's unclear who will follow him out of the bullpen as the team's bulk pitcher, but Jake Bennett is a top candidate.

Pagan allowed one hit and no walks in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Thursday against Atlanta. He struck out one.

Pagan continues his ways as a lights-out closer for the Reds. The right-hander last surrendered a run Sep. 1 against the Padres and hasn't blown a save since way back during a May 4 outing against the Cubs. Pagan is positioning himself as the Reds' favorite for closing duties once more in 2027, turning in a 3.38 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 45:11 K:BB with 25 saves (28 attempts) in 42.2 innings in 2026.

Smith struck out the side to earn the save Thursday against Boston.

Smith put the cherry on top of Cleveland's shutout victory, helping the Guardians clinch their third straight playoff berth. The star closer hasn't been scored upon in 12 consecutive outings, last blowing a save Aug. 5 against the Mets. Smith has a sparkling 1.96 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 107:23 K:BB across 73.1 innings, converting 41 of his 46 save opportunities.

Senzatela earned the save in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Phillies, allowing just one walk while striking out one over 1.2 innings.

Senzatela recorded the final five outs Thursday to log his fourth save this season, his first since joining the Brewers at the trade deadline. The right-hander has allowed just two runs over his last seven appearances (six innings). Overall, Senzatela sports a 4.07 ERA with a 1.36 WHIP and 59:26 K:BB across 73 innings between Milwaukee and Colorado this year.
