Finnegan allowed five runs on three hits and two walks while retiring only one batter in relief during Tuesday's 15-2 loss to the Twins.

Finnegan didn't take the loss, as Detroit starter Troy Melton was also hit hard as he allowed seven runs (five earned) in 5.1 innings, but the righty reliever was wholly ineffective out of the bullpen. The 34-year-old saw his ERA climb from 3.27 to 4.07, and the rough performance comes on the heels of a month in which he posted a subpar 5.00 ERA and 1.67 WHIP across 10 appearances. Finnegan will look to turn things around in September, though he's not off to an encouraging start, and his fantasy value remains limited in a setup role for a team that is now 12 games below .500.

The Tigers recalled Brieske from Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.

The right-hander will get his first look in the majors since mid-July, when Detroit sent him to Triple-A Toledo. Brieske has made eight appearances in the big leagues this year and has surrendered seven earned runs with an 8:4 K:BB over 9.1 innings.

Estevez will undergo season-ending surgery on his right shoulder next week, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Estevez began throwing in bridge league games at the Royals' complex in Arizona last week but wasn't making much progress, so the team will shut him down for the season, and the right-hander will go under the knife to address his strained rotator cuff. The 33-year-old appeared in just one game for the Royals this year, during which he gave up six earned runs while recording just one out. Kansas City is likely to decline his $13 million club option for next season.

The Orioles selected Suarez's contract from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.

The veteran right-hander re-signed with the Orioles on a minor-league deal last week after being designated for assignment and electing free agency, and he's now back in the majors with rosters expanding to 28 players Tuesday. Suarez has been a solid bullpen piece for Baltimore this year with a 3.93 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 38:19 K:BB over 55 innings.

The Angels reinstated Natera (back) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

Natera was on the 15-day injured list due to lower-back spasms that sprung up Aug. 15. The southpaw began a rehab assignment with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Friday and also made an appearance Sunday. Over the two games, the 26-year-old tossed two scoreless innings on zero hits, a walk and a strikeout.

The Blue Jays activated Mantiply (knee) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Mantiply is finally back in the saddle after working his way back from the arthroscopic surgery he underwent on his left knee in June. The veteran reliever will give manager John Schneider another lefty in the bullpen.

The Blue Jays recalled Tiedemann from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.

Tiedemann was up to make his major-league debut in August, allowing one run over a 1.2-inning relief appearance. The left-hander has not gone any more than 1.2 innings in any outing this season and is slated to work out of the Toronto bullpen.

The Athletics recalled Tur from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Tur has been rocked for 17 runs over 4.2 innings covering three relief appearances for the Athletics this season. The 27-year-old has logged a 5.87 ERA and 77:41 K:BB across 61.1 frames during his time with Las Vegas.

The Royals recalled McGee from Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.

He will give the Royals some additional relief depth in September. McGee has made nine relief appearances this season between the Brewers and Royals, allowing nine runs with a 13:5 K:BB over 14.2 innings.

The Royals recalled Hoffman from Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.

Hoffman permitted two runs with a 2:3 K:BB over 4.2 innings with the Phillies earlier this season, and he holds a 4.81 ERA and 54:26 K:BB across 43 innings at the Triple-A level in 2026. The 29-year-old reliever was acquired from Philadelphia in a minor trade last month.
