Riley is out of the lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Astros.

Riley will ride the pine after striking out eight times over his last four games. Mauricio Dubon will man the hot corner and bat fifth for Atlanta during Sunday's series finale against Houston.

Jung went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Blue Jays.

Jung, who was back at third base after two games as the designated hitter, putt the Rangers out front early with a first-inning home run. It was his second homer in the last three games and 11th overall for Jung, who has raked since coming off the injured list a little more than a week ago. He's 10-for-29 (.345) with two doubles, two home runs, four RBI and six runs scored over his last seven games.

Vargas went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, a stolen base, two walks and two runs scored Saturday against the Tigers.

Vargas accounted for much of the White Sox's offense in a pivotal win. He reached base on a free pass in the first inning and then stole second before coming around to score. Vargas then led off the sixth frame with his 33rd homer of the season. He also swiped his 20th base of the campaign, his seventh since the start of September.

The Rockies designated Machin for assignment Saturday.

With Jose Quintana (elbow) returning from the 60-day IL, a 40-man spot was needed, and Machin ends up as the roster casualty. Machin provides defensive versatility around the infield but little with the bat, as evidenced by his .209/.289/.269 career slash line over parts of five big-league seasons.

Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Saturday that Jordan (ankle) will not play again this season, John Denton of Roundtable.io reports.

Jordan was diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain in late August. While he recently shed his walking boot and began incorporating some baseball activities, the Cardinals ultimately decided to shut him down early because of the severity of the injury he suffered, according to Denton. The 23-year-old Jordan ends his rookie season with a .247/.276/.382 slash line and three homers over 199 plate appearances.

House is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals.

Jorbit Vivas will start at third base against right-hander Michael McGreevy as House sits for the second time in three games. House, a right-handed hitter, has a .333/.404/.538 slash line with the platoon edge this season but just a .197/.254/.332 line against same-side pitching.

Garcia isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.

Garcia will take a seat Saturday after going just 1-for-11 with a walk and two RBI in three games since returning from the IL. While he rests, Nick Loftin will start at third base and bat sixth.

Cabrera joined the Reds' active roster Saturday.

Cabrera seemed destined to join the Reds' Triple-A affiliate when he was claimed off waivers from the Yankees on Friday, but Cincinnati will instead add him to its active roster to provide depth in both the infield and outfield. TJ Friedl was sent down to Louisville in a corresponding move.

Garcia went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Friday's 8-5 loss to the Pirates.

Garcia went to the opposite field for a two-RBI double in the third inning, though he was thrown out trying to stretch it into a triple. It marked the third baseman's first hit since returning from a left hamstring strain, as he's gone 1-for-11 (.091) across three games. Injuries have hampered the 26-year-old all season, and Garcia has struggled to build on his breakout 2025, slashing .262/.318/.378 with three homers, 34 RBI, 34 runs and five stolen bases over 76 contests in 2026.

Vargas went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double and three RBI in Friday's 11-8 loss to the Tigers.

Vargas drove in a run on a double in the first inning before launching a two-run blast in the third. The 27-year-old has now hit safely in seven of his past eight games, and he's driven in eight runs over his last five. For the year, he's slashing .249/.357/.477 with 32 homers, 87 RBI, 99 runs scored and 19 steals across 671 plate appearances.
