Devils' David Rittich: Joining New Jersey
Rittich signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Devils on Thursday, per PuckPedia.
Rittich had a 14-10-3 record, 2.76 GAA and .894 save percentage in 30 regular-season appearances with the Islanders in 2025-26. The 34-year-old netminder hasn't logged more than 34 games in a single regular season since 2019-20, but he might get a chance to do so with the Devils. New Jersey traded Jacob Markstrom (undisclosed) to Florida on Tuesday, which means Rittich is likely to open 2026-27 in a timeshare with Jake Allen. The 25-year-old Nico Daws might also be a factor, especially if he has a convincing training camp.

Devils' Marc McLaughlin: Re-signs with New Jersey
McLaughlin signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Devils on Wednesday.
McLaughlin spent most of the 2025-26 regular season with AHL Utica, recording six goals, eight assists and six PIM across 23 appearances. He'll remain in the organization for the 2026-27 campaign, but it wouldn't be surprising if he logged plenty of time in the minors again.

Devils' Riley Tufte: Gets one-way contract
Tufte signed a one-year, $850,000 contract with the Devils on Wednesday.
Tufte had 32 goals, 56 points and 71 PIM in 64 regular-season appearances with AHL Providence in 2025-26. He also scored a goal in four outings with Boston last campaign. Despite receiving a one-way contract, Tufte is likely to fall short of an NHL roster spot during training camp. However, the 28-year-old might get a stint at the top level during the season if the Devils run into injury problems.

Devils' Xavier Parent: Back for another year
Parent secured a one-year, two-way contract with New Jersey on Wednesday.
Parent played in just five games for the Devils last year and failed to register a point while logging 8:34 of ice time per contest. The 25-year-old winger figures to remain a fringe roster option for New Jersey in 2026-27, making him a relative non-factor in fantasy.

Devils' Nico Daws: Re-signs with New Jersey
Daws signed a two-year, $2.2 million contract with the Devils on Wednesday.
Daws has spent most of the past two seasons in the minors. He went 17-16-11 with a 2.78 GAA and .892 save percentage across 44 regular-season appearances with AHL Utica in 2025-26. After the Devils traded Jacob Markstrom to Florida on Tuesday, Daws could compete for starts with Jake Allen during the 2026-27 campaign.

Devils' Vladislav Kolyachonok: Inks one-way contract
Kolyachonok signed a one-year, $850,000 contract with the Devils on Wednesday, per agent Dan Milstein.
Kolyachonok was an unrestricted free agent after Dallas declined to present him with a qualifying offer before Monday's deadline. He had a goal, three points, four PIM, five hits and 13 blocks in 13 regular-season appearances between Dallas and Boston in 2025-26. Kolyachonok's new contract is a one-way deal, which might indicate that New Jersey is seriously considering him for an Opening Night roster spot. If Kolyachonok does make the team, it will probably be as the seventh blueliner on the depth chart.

Devils' Nico Hischier: Set to sign five-year extension
Hischier is slated to sign a five-year, $58.5 million contract extension with the Devils on Wednesday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
Hischier has one more year remaining on his current contract, so his extension will kick in for the 2027-28 campaign. The 27-year-old has racked up at least 60 points for New Jersey in five consecutive seasons, most recently recording 28 goals, 38 assists, 62 blocked shots, 58 hits and 29 PIM while averaging 20:43 of ice time across 82 regular-season appearances in 2025-26.

Devils' Arseny Gritsyuk: Signs three-year contract
Gritsyuk (upper body) signed a three-year, $9.75 million contract with New Jersey on Tuesday.
Gritsyuk sat out the final 12 games of the 2025-26 campaign due to an injury. Before getting hurt and requiring surgery, he compiled 13 goals, 31 points, 149 shots on net and 58 hits across 66 appearances during his first NHL regular season.

Devils' Ben Steeves: Linking up with new team
Steeves, Evan Rodrigues (finger) and Jesper Boqvist were traded to the Devils from the Panthers on Tuesday in exchange for Jacob Markstrom (undisclosed) and Angus Crookshank, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
Steeves registered 23 goals, 45 points, 100 PIM and a plus-3 rating over 72 regular-season games with AHL Charlotte in 2025-26. The 24-year-old has yet to make his NHL debut, so in all likelihood, he will begin this coming season with AHL Utica.

Devils' Evan Rodrigues: Flipped in five-player deal
Rodrigues (finger) was traded to the Devils from the Panthers on Tuesday along with Jesper Boqvist and Ben Steeves, in exchange for Jacob Markstrom (undisclosed) and Angus Crookshank, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
Rodrigues was limited to just 69 regular-season games this year but still managed to reach the 30-point threshold for the fifth consecutive campaign. With New Jersey, the 32-year-old natural center should slot into a middle-six role that could include power-play minutes as well. As such, Rodrigues should be a near-lock to reach the 30-point threshold again in 2026-27.

Devils' Jesper Boqvist: Brought in by New Jersey
Boqvist, Evan Rodrigues (finger) and Ben Steeves were dealt from Florida to New Jersey on Tuesday in exchange for Jacob Markstrom (undisclosed) and Angus Crookshank, according to Pierre LeBrun of TSN.
Boqvist posted four goals, 13 points, 64 shots and 141 hits over 73 games in 2025-26. With his new team, Boqvist should fill a bottom-six role while potentially seeing time on the penalty kill. He has one season remaining on the two-year, $3 million contract he signed with Florida in March of 2025.

Devils' Lavr Gashilov: Tabbed by Devils in Round 4
Gashilov was the 119th overall pick by New Jersey in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday.
Gashilov made a mockery of the Russian Jr. league this past season, finishing tied for fifth in MHL scoring (69 points in 51 regular-season games) despite cooling off considerably in the second half of the year. Gashilov is a dangerous offensive player. He's dominant in open space and predictably effective with the man advantage. His game lacks pace, however, and there are questions as to whether Gashilov is a long-term center. Both undoubtedly hurt his stock, as did the fact that he's a late September birthday, making him one of the oldest first-year eligible players in the draft. It will be interesting to see if Gashilov can earn KHL playing time for Yekaterinburg this coming season, as he clearly has nothing to prove at the junior level.

Devils' Nikita Shcherbakov: Russian defender chosen at No. 44
Shcherbakov was the 44th overall pick by New Jersey in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday.
Shcherbakov is 6-foot-5, 190 pounds at age 18 and already has seven KHL games under his belt, so he was always going to be in relatively high demand. He's a project in every sense of the word. Shcherbakov's limited minutes in the KHL have predictably gone nowhere near as well as the time he spent in Russia's second-tier VHL or their junior MHL. However, he's coordinated for such a big kid and has shown flashes of offense at the lower levels. Shcherbakov is the type of "draft-and-stash" prospect that will be worth checking in on in a year-plus.

Devils' Matias Vanhanen: First overage player drafted
Vanhanen was the 37th overall pick by New Jersey in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday.
Vanhanen was eligible for the 2025 NHL Draft (by a handful of days) and went unselected. He was a lock to be picked this time around after leading all WHL rookies in assists (66) in 62 games for league champion Everett. He also played well for Finland at the World Juniors. He finished his year with a stellar showing of four goals and eight points in five games in the Memorial Cup. Vanhanen's calling card is his hockey IQ. He thinks two or three steps ahead, which is necessary because he otherwise has a set of average skills across the board. While there's clear risk here for multiple reasons, Vanhanen has put a bunch of quality hockey on tape in a variety of settings.

Devils' Alexander Command: Intense pivot drafted 12th overall
Command was the 12th overall pick by New Jersey in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft on Friday.
Command is a polished pivot whose draft stock shot up over the course of the season. How much? He was at one time a borderline selection in round six on NHL Central Scouting's preliminary list. Now, he's a first-rounder. Nothing about his game stands out. But Command commands the ice with his strength, two-way skills and work at the dot. He consistently wins puck battles and knows his role. Command is likely going to be the Devils' third-line center, top forechecker and PK specialist for a long time. He might even wear a letter and help them lift the Stanley Cup. Think Scott Laughton, but in New Jersey.

Devils' Declan Chisholm: Traded Thursday
Chisholm was acquired by New Jersey from Washington on Thursday in exchange for a 2027 fourth-round pick.
Chisholm had a goal, seven points, a plus-3 rating, four PIM, 11 hits and 22 blocks in 26 appearances with the Capitals in 2025-26. The 26-year-old was a frequent healthy scratch last season, and while he's not guaranteed to secure a top-six spot with New Jersey, at least he'll get a fresh opportunity.

Devils' Amadeus Lombardi: Traded for draft pick
Lombardi was acquired by New Jersey from Detroit on Thursday in exchange for a 2026 fourth-round pick.
Lombardi had 16 goals, 42 points and 22 PIM in 47 regular-season appearances with AHL Grand Rapids in 2025-26. The 23-year-old hasn't made his NHL debut and will probably begin the 2026-27 campaign in the minors.

Devils' Etienne Morin: Include in Nemec trade
Morin was traded to the Devils on Tuesday, along with a 2026 second-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick and a 2028 first-round pick, in exchange for Simon Nemec and Maxim Tsyplakov, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Morin has yet to make his NHL debut after being selected by the Flames in the second round of the 2023 NHL Draft. After solid numbers in the QMJHL -- Morin recorded 58 points in 62 regular-season games in his last year with Moncton -- the 21-year-old blueliner struggled to find his footing in the minors. In the 2025-26 regular season, the Quebec native logged a meager seven points in 42 games with AHL Calgary and even spent some time in the ECHL.

Devils' Anton Silayev: Inks entry-level deal
Silayev agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with New Jersey on Monday.
Silayev played in 61 regular-season games for the KHL's Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod this past season, recording one goal and two assists before adding two points in 10 playoff contests. Selected by the Devils with the 10th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, the 20-year-old blueliner doesn't offer enough offensive upside to be worth much in most fantasy formats -- he has yet to record more than 12 points in any of his three full KHL regular seasons.
