Flyers' Nikita Grebenkin: Will miss start of playoffs
Grebenkin (upper body) is not expected to be ready for the start of the postseason, Bill Meltzer of the Flyers' official site reports Thursday.
According to head coach Rick Tocchet, Grebenkin will need to get some practice time in before he can return to the lineup, and he hasn't been able to do much in the way of skating. While the team didn't put an official timeline on the 22-year-old winger's potential return, he should probably be expected to miss at least the first few games of the series

Flyers' Trevor Zegras: Headed to the playoffs
Zegras (rest) will see his first playoff action in six NHL seasons this weekend, according to Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports.
Zegras sat out Tuesday's contest against Montreal. He spent the first five seasons of his NHL career with Anaheim, as the Ducks failed to make the playoffs during his tenure there. Zegras had 26 goals and a career high 67 points in 82 regular-season games this season.

Flyers' Cam York: Back at it Thursday
York (rest) practiced with the team ahead of Saturday's Game 1 clash with the Penguins, Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports reports.
York was given the night off versus the Habs on Tuesday in order to rest up for the playoffs. Considering the defenseman is stuck in a 32-game goal drought, during which he produced six helpers, his return to the lineup is unlikely to significantly impact postseason fantasy pools. Still, York gives the Flyers another shutdown option on the blue line.

He posted a 14-11-4 record with a 3.43 GAA and an .877 save percentage across 32 regular-season games. Bjarnason will likely remain with the Flyers throughout their playoff run as a practice goaltender, as the Phantoms' AHL campaign is over.

Flyers' Oliver Bonk: Returns to minors
Bonk was reassigned to AHL Lehigh Valley on Wednesday.
Bonk made his NHL debut Tuesday, providing a goal and an assist to lead the Flyers to a 4-2 victory over Montreal. That fantastic performance will help make his case when he's competing for an NHL roster spot during training camp, but for now, he'll focus on closing out the campaign for Lehigh Valley, which will not make the Calder Cup Playoffs. The 21-year-old defenseman has six goals, 19 points and 22 PIM in 44 outings with the AHL squad in 2025-26. Bonk is unlikely to play for Philadelphia during its playoff run, but he might eventually join the club as a Black Ace to get a taste of the postseason atmosphere.

McDonald notched an assist, four PIM, five hits and a plus-3 rating in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Canadiens.
McDonald made his NHL debut Tuesday and looked good, making an impact in multiple areas during his 15:11 of ice time. The 23-year-old defenseman figures to head back to AHL Lehigh Valley as the minor-league team makes a late push for a playoff spot. If that falls short, he'll likely be among the Flyers' Black Aces during their NHL playoff run.

Bump scored a goal and added two hits in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Canadiens.
Bump had been a scratch for the previous two games, but he drew in after the Flyers made wholesale changes to the lineup following their clinching of a playoff spot Monday. The 22-year-old forward figures to be a part-time option at best in the playoffs. Bump has five goals, four assists, 23 shots on net, 16 hits and a plus-3 rating over 17 appearances this season.
