Stars' Casey DeSmith: Snaps five-game losing streak
DeSmith made 22 saves on 27 shots in a 6-5 win over Toronto on Monday.
The game was a see-saw affair, with the Maple Leafs up 3-0 heading into the first intermission and 5-2 early in the third after two goals in a 2:39 span early in the final frame. DeSmith ended a personal five-game losing streak (0-4-1). Dallas plays in Buffalo on Wednesday, and Jake Oettinger could get a rest heading into the postseason. That means DeSmith would be the first man off the ice at the game-day skate.

Stars' Wyatt Johnston: Game grows from great to elite
Johnston scored a goal in Monday's 6-5 win over Toronto.
Johnston has had an outstanding season -- the goal was his 45th snipe and 86th point of the year (81 games). Johnston is on a four-game, six-point scoring streak. It includes four goals and two assists (13 shots). He's the top scorer from the 2021 Entry Draft. Johnston has 134 goals, 129 assists (263 points) in 327 games. Not bad for the 23rd overall pick.

Stars' Mavrik Bourque: First NHL hat trick
Bourque scored a hat trick Monday in a 6-5 win over Toronto. He also had an assist.
Bourque's third tally put the Stars ahead for good at 14:52 of the third period. He's the fifth player in Stars history to score at least three goals and four points on the road, and the first since Wyatt Johnston had five points (three goals, two assists) in a 7-6 overtime win in San Jose on March 5, 2024. Bourque has 19 goals, 21 assists and 146 shots in 81 games in his second full season in the NHL.

Stars' Miro Heiskanen: Deemed questionable for Game 1
Heiskanen (lower body) is questionable for Game 1 against the Wild in the first round of the 2026 postseason, per Robert Tiffin of D Magazine on Monday.
Heiskanen has already been ruled out for the remainder of the regular season, so it's a relatively positive update that he might be an option for the start of the playoffs. Roope Hintz (lower body) is also questionable for Game 1 against the Wild, so the Stars have a couple of moving parts heading into their quest to bring the Stanley Cup back to Dallas.

Stars' Sam Steel: Questionable for Wednesday
Steel (hip) is questionable to play in Wednesday's road game against the Sabres, per Robert Tiffin of D Magazine.
Steel has begun traveling with the team and it was noted that he has a chance to appear in Wednesday's regular-season finale. The 28-year-old center has 12 goals, 33 points, 82 shots on net, 77 hits and 29 blocked shots across 72 games this season. If Steel ends up missing his 10th consecutive game Wednesday, there's a chance that he's being held out to be at 100 percent ahead of Dallas' first-round matchup against the Wild in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Duchene notched two assists, one on the power play, in Saturday's 2-0 win over the Rangers.

Stars' Jason Robertson: Supplies only offense Saturday
Robertson scored two goals, including the game-winner on the power play, in Saturday's 2-0 victory over the Rangers.
The star winger broke open a scoreless tie by beating Igor Shesterkin on the backhand midway through the third period, then added an empty-netter for good measure. Robertson has found the back of the net in three straight games, and he has supplied 10 goals and 20 points over his last 16 appearances. While he'll almost certainly fall short of reaching 100 regular-season points for the second time in his career -- Robertson has 94 points with two games left on the schedule -- he needs two more goals to tie his career high of 46 from the 2022-23 regular season.
