Springs allowed three runs on five hits, a walk and a hit batsman while striking out three over 4.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Angels on Wednesday.

Springs threw 53 of 84 pitches for strikes in this outing, but he was tagged for two home runs. He hadn't given up a long ball over his first three starts in September, though he surrendered a total of 11 runs over 19.2 innings this month. The southpaw is likely done for the season after this outing, having gone 4-14 with a 6.18 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 112:57 K:BB over 142.2 innings across 29 starts.

Lugo allowed four runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out three batters over 3.1 innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Wednesday.

Lugo got six straight outs to start the game, but allowed all of the games' damage in the third inning when the White Sox got four runs off of five hits and 2 hit-by-pitches. The 36-year-old leaves this start allowing the most hits (200) and second most earned runs (99) in the American League. This is likely Lugo's last outing of the 2026 season.

Cole (10-9) earned the win Wednesday over the Rays, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out eight.

Cole ended his regular season on a high note, allowing just four runs over 11.2 innings while striking out 17 in his last two starts -- he had struggled to a 5.96 ERA in his previous four outings. The right-hander held Tampa Bay scoreless Wednesday until Jonny DeLuca's two-out RBI double in the fourth inning before Cedric Mullins added a solo home run in the fifth. Cole will finish the regular season with a 3.61 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 131:25 K:BB across 22 starts (127 innings).

Prielipp didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Giants, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out three.

It was a strong outing overall for Prielipp, who held the Giants scoreless until Shay Whitcomb's two-out, two-run single in the fourth inning,. In three starts since rejoining Minnesota's rotation, Prielipp's given up just five runs across 17.2 innings. The lefty will likely finish his rookie campaign with a 4.87 ERA over 125.2 innings this season with a 1.29 WHIP and 128:44 K:BB.

Gray (18-5) earned the win Wednesday against Cleveland, striking out three while allowing four hits and one walk in six scoreless innings.

Gray scattered four singles on the evening in what was final scheduled appearance of the regular season. The right-hander is heading into the playoffs with a ton of steam, having logged a quality start in four consecutive outings and seven of his last nine. Wednesday put a bow on an excellent regular season, which saw Gray post a 2.72 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 149:46 K:BB over 169 innings.

Griffin (15-6) took the loss against Boston on Wednesday, allowing one run on 10 hits and no walks in six innings. He struck out seven.

Griffin certainly danced around plenty of trouble, holding the Red Sox in check in spite of giving up 10 singles. The seven punchouts were his most since July 8 as a member of the Nationals, and it was just the southpaw's third quality start since being dealt to Cleveland. Griffin posted a 5.19 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 42:15 K:BB over 43.1 innings for the Guardians as his regular season comes to an end.

Valdez (10-12) gave up two runs on four hits across 5.1 innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Nationals. He walked three and struck out six.

Valdez was in strong form through five innings, allowing just a single and three walks. However, the southpaw ran into trouble in the sixth when he allowed the first three batters to reach to make the score 1-0 before he eventually got the hook. While the outing ended on a sour note, it was still another mostly good performance for Valdez, who has posted a 1.93 ERA and 19 strikeouts across 23.1 innings in September. The veteran is not scheduled to take the mound again in 2026, so he'll finish his first season in Detroit with a 4.03 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 135 strikeouts across 174 innings. After signing a three-year, $115 million contract with the Tigers in the offseason, Valdez's final stat line is a disappointment compared to the numbers he regularly posted in Houston, but he'll have the chance to restore some fantasy value if he looks good early in 2027.

The Astros placed Javier on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a Grade 2 groin strain, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Javier left his start Tuesday against Seattle after two innings due to right groin soreness, and he'll officially be shut down for the year upon receiving his diagnosis. He'll close the book on 2026 after enduring one of his least effective seasons in the majors, posting a 5.14 ERA and 1.46 WHIP over 63 innings. Josh Hendrickson was called up from Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move.

Manager Kevin Cash said Wednesday that McClanahan (forearm) will not be included on the Rays' ALDS roster, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

McClanahan had already been ruled out for the rest of the regular season due to tightness in his left forearm, and although the Rays will get a bye during the Wild Card Series, he still won't be ready to pitch by the time Tampa Bay begins its postseason run. Cash noted that it's still possible McClanahan will be available for the ALCS if the Rays advance, though they will wait to see where the left-hander is at in his throwing progression at that point before making a decision.

The Blue Jays placed Cease on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with right shoulder inflammation.

The Blue Jays have already confirmed that Cease's shoulder will not require surgery, but with less than a week remaining in the regular season and Toronto out of the race for a wild-card spot, the 30-year-old's move to the injured list will officially end his season. He enjoyed one of the best campaigns of his career during his first year in Toronto, registering a 2.40 ERA and 1.10 WHIP while striking out a career-high 239 batters in 169 innings (29 starts).
