Orioles manager Craig Albernaz indicated Friday that Alexander (back) will not be activated from the 10-day injured list before the end of the season, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Alexander has been out since early September with back spasms. His back is still bothing him, so the out-of-contention Orioles won't press the issue. Alexander was limited to 93 games this season due to injury but was a valuable super utility player when on the field, slashing .303/.358/.414 with four home runs and 10 stolen bases. The 27-year-old will likely have a similar role with the Orioles in 2027.

Gelof went 2-for-3 with a pair of solo home runs and a walk in Thursday's 7-5 loss to the Astros.

Gelof has gone 11-for-26 (.423) with four homers and eight RBI during his seven-game hitting streak. The strong finish to the year has him up to a .259 average, .810 OPS, 22 homers, 54 RBI, 74 runs scored, 16 doubles, two triples and 16 stolen bases over 108 contests. Gelof is seeing steady time at third base now that Max Muncy (knee) is out.

Paredes went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Thursday's 7-5 win over the Athletics.

Paredes has three homers over his last five games. The infielder is up to 24 long balls and 93 RBI on the season, both being his best marks in the last three seasons. He's also batting .261 with an .804 OPS, 27 doubles, 66 runs scored and no stolen bases over 152 contests.

Vargas went 2-for-5 with two RBI, two runs, one walk, one stolen base and three strikeouts during Thursday's 9-1 win over the Royals.

Vargas extended his hitting streak to six games and has successfully recorded a base hit in 12 of his last 13 games. The 26-year-old got the scoring started with an RBI single in the first inning and later contributed another RBI single in the second to extend the lead. This year, Vargas is slashing .252/.363/.479 with 33 homers, 92 RBI, 98 walks and 21 stolen bases in 695 plate appearances.

The Mariners recalled Rivas from Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday.

Rivas will give the Mariners some additional infield depth following the injury to Brock Rodden (knee). The 28-year-old Rivas has a steady glove but has been woeful offensively during his time with the Mariners this season, slashing .147/.270/.190 in 47 games.

The Mariners placed Rodden on the 10-day injured list Thursday with left patella tendon inflammation.

It's unclear how long Rodden's knee has been bothering him, but the injury will prematurely end the infielder's season. He'll finish with a lowly .197/.306/.279 batting line with zero home runs and zero stolen bases in 30 contests for the Mariners.

Garcia is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the White Sox.

The Royals have given Garcia one day off per series since he returned from the injured list last week. After reaching base seven times in the first two games of the three-game set, he'll grab a seat during Thursday's matinee. Nick Loftin will play third base in Garcia's stead.

Gelof went 2-for-3 with a double, a hit-by-pitch, two stolen bases and a run scored in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Angels.

Gelof logged his third multi-hit effort during a six-game hitting streak. The steals were his first since he swiped two bags Sept. 7 versus the Blue Jays. The 26-year-old continues to offer a little of everything, batting .256 with a .789 OPS, 20 home runs, 16 steals, 52 RBI, 72 runs scored, 16 doubles and two triples over 107 contests this season.

Garcia went 3-for-3 with three RBI, a run, and a double in Wednesday's 5-4 win against the White Sox.

Garcia drove home the first two runs of the game and then got the go-ahead RBI in the seventh inning with a double off of Hagen Smith to score Bobby Witt Jr. The 26-year-old has missed a lot of time in the past three months because of two IL stints due to hand and hamstring injuries, so this is the first time Garcia has had three or more RBI since June 14. When he has played, Garcia is slashing .263/.325/.378 with 38 RBI, 20 doubles, five stolen bases and three homers in 80 games.

McMahon went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and an additional RBI in Wednesday's 9-2 win over Tampa Bay.

McMahon extended New York's lead to 2-0 in the second inning with a two-out RBI single before breaking the game open with a grand slam off Mason Englert in the third. It was a much-needed performance for McMahon, who'd gone just 1-for-17 in six games prior to Wednesday. Overall, he's slashing .210/.276/.352 across 356 plate appearances this year with 11 homers, 40 RBI and 32 runs scored.
