Hawks' Asa Newell: Targeting larger role
Newell will look to build upon his rookie campaign after averaging just 11.4 minutes across 44 regular-season appearances.
The young big remains an intriguing developmental piece due to his athleticism, rebounding and ability to finish around the basket, though Atlanta's frontcourt depth could continue to limit his opportunities. Newell is unlikely to warrant much attention in standard fantasy formats unless he secures a substantially larger role in his second season.

Hawks' Ryan Nembhard: Not guaranteed a role
Nembhard will look to establish himself in Atlanta's backcourt after joining an organization with plenty of competition for guard minutes.
Nembhard's passing and ability to organize an offense are his strongest avenues toward earning playing time, though he's unlikely to begin the season with a significant role. Nembhard's fantasy appeal will consequently be limited unless injuries or roster movement create a larger opportunity.

Hawks' Zuby Ejiofor: To fight for minutes
Ejiofor enters his rookie campaign after the Hawks selected him 23rd overall in the 2026 NBA Draft.
The 6-foot-9 forward flashed his two-way potential during Summer League, including a performance in which he recorded 13 points, six rebounds, three blocks and two steals. Atlanta's veteran depth could prevent Ejiofor from immediately seeing heavy minutes, but his rebounding and defensive ability give him a path toward becoming a useful rotation piece.

Hawks' Kingston Flemings: Could be heavily involved
Flemings enters his rookie season after Atlanta selected him with the No. 8 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Hawks president of basketball operations Onsi Saleh praised Flemings' competitiveness on both ends of the floor following the draft, and the young guard should have an opportunity to earn minutes despite Atlanta's considerable perimeter depth. Flemings' immediate fantasy value will depend on how quickly he can carve out a role, but his draft capital makes him one of the organization's most important developmental pieces.

Hawks' Nickeil Alexander-Walker: More competition for touches
Alexander-Walker could face increased competition for minutes after Atlanta added Luguentz Dort, Rylan Stiles of SI.com reports.
Additionally, the Hawks added rookie Kingston Flemings while previously acquiring Aaron Wiggins. Alexander-Walker's defensive versatility and three-point shooting should still earn him a big role in the rotation, but the Hawks suddenly have much greater depth on the wing, making it more difficult for him to secure consistent touches. As a result, Alexander-Walker's upside may not be as appealing as it was in 2025-26.

Hawks' Jalen Wilson: Lands two-way deal with Hawks
Wilson agreed to a two-way deal with the Hawks on Monday, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.com reports.
A second-round pick of the Nets in 2023, Wilson will move on to a new organization after three seasons in Brooklyn. He was an occasional member of the Brooklyn rotation in 2025-26, averaging 6.4 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.0 three-pointers in 15.9 minutes per game over 54 appearances. As one of Atlanta's three two-way players, Wilson will be little more than a depth option at forward and could end up seeing most of his playing time in the G League when the roster is at close to full strength.

Hawks' Ryan Nembhard: Sent to Atlanta
The Mavericks traded Nembhard (illness) to the Hawks on Sunday in exchange for Zaccharie Risacher as part of a three-team deal with the Thunder, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
The Hawks will receive Nembhard and Luguentz Dort, while the Thunder acquire three second-round picks. While his minutes weren't always very consistent, Nembhard played a fairly meaningful role for the Mavericks in his rookie campaign. Over 60 regular-season appearances (27 starts) in 2025-26, the 23-year-old point guard averaged 6.6 points, 5.3 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 19.5 minutes per contest. He figures to provide depth behind CJ McCollum and Kingston Flemings (rest).

Hawks' Luguentz Dort: Traded to Atlanta
The Thunder traded Dort to the Hawks on Sunday in exchange for three second-round picks as part of a three-team deal with the Mavericks, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
The Thunder picked up the defensive-minded swingman's $17.7 million team option in June but are now flipping him for draft capital. The Hawks will receive Dort and Ryan Nembhard (illness), while the Mavericks acquire 2024 No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher. Dort's production took a fairly significant hit in 2025-26, during which he averaged 8.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.9 steals while shooting just 38.5 percent from the field in 26.8 minutes per game across 69 regular-season appearances. He figures to play significant minutes thanks to his defensive prowess, though he could come off the bench behind Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Dyson Daniels.

Hawks' Kobe Johnson: Tallies three blocks in SL loss
Johnson recorded 13 points (4-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four assists, four rebounds, three blocks and one steal over 31 minutes during Saturday's 91-83 Summer League loss to Washington.
Johnson led the Hawks with three blocks while finishing tied with Gabe Madsen as the team's second-leading scorer behind Devon Higgs (22 points). Johnson played in 27 games (22 starts) for the College Park Skyhawks in the G League last season and averaged 15.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.2 threes over 31.1 minutes per contest. He figures to spend most, if not all, of 2026-27 in the G League.

Hawks' Devon Higgs: Leads Atlanta in scoring Saturday
Higgs finished Saturday's 91-83 Summer League loss to the Wizards with 22 points (8-17 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and two steals over 30 minutes.
Higgs struggled from three-point range but was efficient enough from within the arc to lead the Hawks in scoring while finishing tied with Wizards' John Camden for the most points in Saturday's game. It's the second 20-plus point game of the Summer League for Higgs, which could be enough for him to catch on with the Hawks or another team for training camp in September.

Hawks' Isaac McKneely: Won't go Saturday
McKneely (shoulder) has been ruled out for Saturday's Summer League game against the Wizards, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
McKneely suffered a right shoulder injury in Thursday's loss to the Grizzlies and won't play in Atlanta's Summer League finale. Over four Las Vegas Summer League appearances, he averaged 5.5 points, 2.0 assists and 1.5 rebounds in 19.2 minutes per tilt.
