Magic's Paolo Banchero: Preparing for fifth campaign
Banchero is gearing up for his fifth NBA season in 2026-27.
The Magic made no significant additions or subtractions to the team this offseason that would noticeably impact Banchero's outlook. That sets him up as one of the club's top playmakers along with Franz Wagner and Desmond Bane, but Banchero continues to carry concerns in category-based fantasy leagues for his high turnover rate and dodgy shooting efficiency. The star forward has averaged at least 22 points, six rebounds, four assists and nearly one steal in three consecutive years, but he's also averaged at least three turnovers during that time and has never shot at least 46 percent from the floor or 78 percent from the free-throw line in his career.

Magic's Kevin Knox: Signs with Orlando
Knox agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Magic on Wednesday, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
The ninth overall pick in the 2018 Draft, Knox is set to compete for a spot on Orlando's regular-season roster during training camp. The 27-year-old forward appeared in 39 games with the G League's Windy City Bulls in 2025-26, averaging 21.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 combined steals-plus-blocks in 35.0 minutes per contest.

Magic's Ace Baldwin: Lands Exhibit 10 deal
Baldwin agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Magic on Wednesday, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
The Magic now own Baldwin's G League rights, so it's possible he'll be waived before camp begins. Still, he could compete for a spot on the regular-season roster. The 25-year-old point guard played in 28 G League outings with the Osceola Magic in 2025-26, averaging 1.5 points and 1.0 assists across 7.9 minutes per tilt.

Magic's Ricky Council: Agrees to camp deal with Orlando
Council agreed to a training camp deal with Orlando on Wednesday, Paul Garcia of The Spot Up Shot reports.
Council went undrafted in 2023 but managed to suit up for the 76ers in 2023-24 and 2024-25. In 105 regular-season appearances (12 starts) with Philadelphia, he averaged 6.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists over 14.7 minutes per contest. Council has NBA experience, so he could be in the mix for a spot on Orlando's roster heading into the 2026-27 campaign. However, he likely wouldn't have a prominent role if he does make the team.

Magic's Jarron Cumberland: Lands camp deal with Orlando
Cumberland agreed to a training camp contract with the Magic on Wednesday, Paul Garcia of The Spot Up Shot reports.
The Magic now own Cumberland's G League rights, so it's possible they'll waive him before training camp begins. Over 45 G League outings between the Osceola Magic and South Bay Lakers last season, he averaged 5.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists across 18.7 minutes per showing.

Magic's Jalen Suggs: Could play off ball more often
Philip Rossman-Reich of Orlando Magic Daily believes Suggs is best utilized as a spot-up shooter and in catch-and-shoot situations.
Suggs is coming off a disappointing playoff run, having averaged 11.1 points per game on 29.9 percent shooting from the field and 24.1 percent from three-point range last postseason. Rossman-Reich also thinks a healthy Magic team is paramount to maximizing Suggs' strengths in an off-ball role after the guard was forced to operate more on the ball last year due to injuries to Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner. Suggs should see enough playmaking opportunities to be worthy of a late-round pick in fantasy leagues, but the emergence of Anthony Black, who's coming off a breakout 2025-26 campaign, could remain a worrisome presence at point guard for Suggs' managers.

Magic's Anthony Black: Primed to lead second unit
Black is lined up for a significant role off the Orlando bench in 2026-27.
Black's breakout 2025-26 campaign had already begun to take off before Franz Wagner (calf) got hurt in December, but the ankle injury to the latter cleared the way for the former to start a career-high 40 regular-season games. However, a late-season abdominal strain curtailed much of the momentum Black had built, as it wasn't until the final contests of the first round of the playoffs that he resumed handling full workloads following a monthlong absence with the issue. The 2023 first-rounder is positioned for a reserve role to begin his fourth year with the Magic, but he still stands out as one of the league's premier sixth men and makes sense as a late-round fantasy pick.

Magic's JD Davison: Inks deal with Magic
Davison agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with Orlando on Thursday, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Davison was let go by Houston in early August, but he's since earned an opportunity to compete for a roster spot in training camp with the Magic. He played in 28 regular-season games a year ago with the Rockets, averaging 2.5 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 7.8 minutes per contest.

Da Silva ended with nine points (3-10 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, four assists and one steal in 25 minutes during Germany's 96-94 loss to Poland in Tuesday's FIBA World Cup qualifier.
Da Silva has been staying active this offseason ahead of his third NBA season. The Magic more or less maintained the same core from the 2025-26 campaign, positioning da Silva for a bench role at power forward behind Paolo Banchero to begin the year. Da Silva averaged 9.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 0.9 steals in 24.7 minutes per contest over 77 regular-season games (34 starts) in 2025-26.

Magic's Nikola Vucevic: Gearing up for second stint with Orlando
Vucevic did not participate in Montenegro's latest FIBA World Cup qualifying window as he turns his focus toward the upcoming NBA season.
The veteran center is preparing for his second stint with the Magic in 2026-27, though he's unlikely to be a full-time starter with Wendell Carter in the fold this time around. Orlando figures to hold a competition for the top center position during training camp this fall, and it wouldn't be surprising if the team took a hot-hand approach between Vucevic and Carter throughout the course of the year. Vucevic can be treated as a late-round flier in fantasy drafts while this situation shakes out.

Magic's Franz Wagner: Sits out for Germany
Wagner (calf) did not participate in Germany's latest FIBA World Cup qualifying window as he focuses on preparing for the 2026-27 NBA season.
Wagner was limited to 34 regular-season appearances for Orlando last season but remained productive when available, averaging 20.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 30.0 minutes per game. The 25-year-old remains one of the centerpieces of the Magic's offense and should continue handling a significant scoring and playmaking workload alongside Paolo Banchero. Magic's Goga Bitadze: Strong effort in win
Bitadze recorded 23 points (8-18 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 4-5 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks in 30 minutes during Georgia's 101-74 win over Montenegro in Friday's FIBA World Cup qualifier.
The 27-year-old averaged 5.9 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 67.6 percent from the field during the 2025-26 regular season, but his path to playing time has become even more crowded following the Magic's offseason addition of Nikola Vucevic. With Vucevic and Wendell Carter both in the mix at center, Bitadze may struggle to see enough minutes to provide consistent fantasy value in 2026-27.

Magic's Malaki Branham: Joining Orlando
Branham agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Magic on Wednesday, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Branham will join the Magic after playing for the Cavaliers in Summer League and seeing action with the Wizards during the 2025-26 campaign. In 28 appearances with Washington, the 2022 first-round pick averaged 4.6 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 9.9 minutes per contest. Even if he makes the team, Branham is unlikely to provide much more than depth at the end of the bench.

Magic's Noah Penda: Bracing for camp battle
Penda could need an impressive training camp with the Magic to carve out a larger role in 2026-27.
Orlando kept virtually all of its core from 2025-26 intact, so a similar role could be in store for Penda in 2026-27. After averaging only 12.8 minutes per game last regular season, the 2025 second-rounder has Jamal Cain, Tristan da Silva and Jase Richardson as his primary threats for playing time ahead of camp.

Richardson has some obstacles to climb in order to seize an Opening Night role.
The 2025 first-rounder was not a big part of Orlando's rotation in his rookie season, averaging 10.9 minutes per game over 54 regular-season appearances. With Anthony Black primed to serve as the Magic's sixth man off the bench, Richardson is left to compete with the likes of Jamal Cain, Noah Penda and Jevon Carter for reserve minutes this season.
