Penda could need an impressive training camp with the Magic to carve out a larger role in 2026-27.
Orlando kept virtually all of its core from 2025-26 intact, so a similar role could be in store for Penda in 2026-27. After averaging only 12.8 minutes per game last regular season, the 2025 second-rounder has Jamal Cain, Tristan da Silva and Jase Richardson as his primary threats for playing time ahead of camp.

Richardson has some obstacles to climb in order to seize an Opening Night role.
The 2025 first-rounder was not a big part of Orlando's rotation in his rookie season, averaging 10.9 minutes per game over 54 regular-season appearances. With Anthony Black primed to serve as the Magic's sixth man off the bench, Richardson is left to compete with the likes of Jamal Cain, Noah Penda and Jevon Carter for reserve minutes this season.

Magic's Malik Reneau: Paces Orlando in SL win
Reneau recorded 19 points (6-7 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, one steal and one block across 18 minutes in Saturday's 103-97 Summer League win over the Celtics.
Reneau torched the nets in Orlando's Summer League finale, scoring all of his game-high 19 points in the second half. The 23-year-old big man signed an Exhibit 10 pact with the Magic in June and could end up with the team's G League affiliate, the Osceola Magic, to begin the 2026-27 campaign.

Toney tallied 18 points (6-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, four steals and one assist across 24 minutes in Saturday's 103-97 Summer League win over the Celtics.
Toney delivered a solid all-around performance off the bench in Orlando's Summer League finale. The 26-year-old wing finished as the team's second-leading scorer while matching the game high in steals. Additionally, he tied for the team lead in rebounds.

According to Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel, Reddish has been dealing with a bone bruise in his right knee. He's been working toward a return to the Association after spending the 2025-26 campaign in the G League and Lithuania, though the knee injury prevented him from suiting up in any of Orlando's Summer League outings.

Castle will be sidelined for the Magic's Summer League finale for rest purposes. Penda will sit out the Magic's Summer League finale for rest purposes. All five starters scored in double digits for the Magic, but Morales did a good job of contributing in other areas as well. The two-way guard, who spent most of the 2025-26 season in the G League, led Orlando in rebounds, co-led the team in steals and ranked second in assists behind Noah Penda's six.

Richardson was a bright spot in his return from a one-game absence for undisclosed reasons. The 2025 first-rounder is preparing for his second season with the Magic and is aiming to make a case for a reserve role in 2026-27 after hardly being part of the rotation as a rookie.

Magic's Izaiyah Nelson: To undergo surgery
The Magic announced Monday that Nelson will undergo surgery to repair a fracture in his left ankle, and he's expected to return to basketball activities in 3-4 months.
Nelson sustained the fracture during Sunday's Summer League win over Portland and is now in danger of missing the start of the 2026-27 campaign. The No. 51 overall pick in this year's draft signed a two-way contract with the Magic and isn't expected to have a consistent role with the parent club once he returns.

Quinones contributed 30 points (9-14 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 7-9 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and three steals across 29 minutes in Sunday's 112-105 Summer League win over the Trail Blazers in overtime.
Quinones was active on both ends of the floor and led all players with 30 points in this one. The 25-year-old guard turned in an efficient performance and got to the charity stripe often on offense. On the defensive end, Quinones grabbed a team-high eight boards while tying for second on the Magic in steals. He's scored in double figures in all three of his appearances this summer, tallying 15-plus in two of them.
