Wizards' Anthony Davis: Not expected to return this season
Head coach Brian Keefe said Tuesday that Davis (finger) is not expected to play again this season, Chase Hughes of Monumental Sports Network reports.
Davis hasn't played since Jan. 8 due to ligament damage in his left hand. Hughes relayed that the team tried to ramp him up but ultimately ran out of time. The star big man was recently cleared to take light contact and will continue rehabbing in the offseason ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. He'll finish this season with averages of 20.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.1 steals per game across 20 regular-season appearances with the Mavericks before being traded to the Wizards on Feb. 4.

Wizards' Anthony Davis: Cleared for light contact
Davis (finger) is healing on schedule and has been cleared for light contact work, though he remains without a timetable for a return, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports.
Davis hasn't played since Jan. 8 due to ligament damage in his left hand and can be considered week-to-week until the Wizards offer another update on his progress. However, with the team holding a 17-58 record, it wouldn't be surprising if the star big man doesn't return this season.

Wizards' Anthony Davis: Ruled out for Wednesday
Davis (finger) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the 76ers.
Davis hasn't played since Jan. 8 due to ligament damage in his left hand and remains without a clear timetable for a return. Considering the Wizards own a 17-58 record, it wouldn't be surprising to see the star big man miss the remainder of the season. For now, he can be considered doubtful for future contests until the club offers an update on his progress.

Wizards' Anthony Davis: Remains out through March
Davis (finger) will remain sidelined through the end of March, the Wizards announced Friday.
Davis continues to progress, but a re-evaluation Thursday revealed that the volar plate tissue in his left hand has not fully healed. The big man will continue with "conservative treatment," and while he will be re-evaluated at the end of the month, it's becoming harder to imagine him making his Wizards debut this season.

Wizards' Anthony Davis: To be re-evaluated in two weeks
The Wizards announced Thursday that Davis (finger) will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
Davis has been cleared for limited individual on-court activities, which is encouraging. The superstar big man is recovering from ligament damage in his left hand, and it's fair to expect the 16-45 Wizards to take things slowly with Davis. With Alex Sarr (hamstring) also on the shelf, Washington is down to Tristan Vukcevic (thigh), Anthony Gill (illness) and Julian Reese at center.

Wizards' Anthony Davis: Re-evaluated in two weeks
Davis (finger) has yet to be cleared for basketball activities and will be re-evaluated in two weeks, according to NBA reporter Marc Stein.
Davis is "progressing as expected," but a return in the near future appears to be off the table. A previous report from Chris Haynes on Feb. 6 indicated that Davis will likely sit out the remainder of the season, and that is looking increasingly likely.
