  • Marlins' Max Meyer: No-decision against Seattle

Meyer did not factor into Tuesday's decision against the Mariners, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four across five innings.

Meyer opened his start nicely by striking out three of the first four batters he faced. He faced the minimum number of batters through four innings before giving up two runs in the fifth, but his stat line could have looked far worse after loading the bases with no outs in the sixth. Luckily for Meyer, his night ended at two earned runs after Michael Petersen came in and got the Marlins out of the bases-loaded jam. Meyer has given up two earned runs or less in seven consecutive starts, going 4-1 with a 1.96 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 34:13 K:BB in 41.1 innings over that span. He's slated to start this weekend at home against the Guardians in what figures to be Meyer's last turn in the rotation before the All-Star break.

  • Marlins' Owen Caissie: Goes deep against Seattle

Caissie went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk during Miami's 6-5 extra-inning win over Seattle on Tuesday.

Caissie opened Tuesday's scoring with a 418-foot solo home run to right-center field off Mariners right-hander Bryan Woo. It was the 12th home run of the season for Caissie, who has gone deep in three of his last six games. He has a .239 batting average over 246 plate appearances this season, but Caissie has been better at the plate as of late, going 12-for-38 (.316) with one steal, four homers and 11 RBI over his last 15 games.

  • Marlins' Heriberto Hernandez: Pinch-hit homer Tuesday

Hernandez went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in the Marlins' 6-5 extra-inning win over the Mariners on Tuesday.

Hernandez pinch-hit for Griffin Conine in the eighth inning, and the former answered the call with a game-tying solo home run off Gabe Speier. It was the 12th long ball of the season for Hernandez, four of which have come over his last four games. He has gone 8-for-20 (.400) with six RBI, six runs scored and seven extra-base hits over his last seven games.

  • Marlins' Dillon Lewis: Out with broken wrist

Double-A Pensacola placed Lewis on its 7-day injured list June 27 due to a broken hamate bone in his wrist, FishOnFirst.com reports.

The Marlins haven't issued a target date Lewis' return, but the typical timeline for hamate fractures is 6-to-8 weeks. With that in mind, Lewis appears likely to be sidelined through at least mid-August, with his absence potentially extending into September. Before going down with the injury, the 23-year-old outfielder slashed .240/.315/.512 with 17 home runs and 14 stolen bases over 66 games.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: Walks off Seattle

Marsee went 2-for-4 with two RBI during the Marlins' 6-5 extra-inning win over the Mariners on Tuesday.

Marsee extended Miami's lead to 3-0 with an RBI single in the third inning, but he made his biggest contribution in the 10th with a long, towering single that brought Xavier Edwards home for the game-winning run. It was the fifth time this season that Marsee logged at least two RBI and he's reached base safely in each of his last five games, going 5-for-15 with one home run, three RBI and four runs scored over that span.

  • Marlins' Janson Junk: Hits 60-pitch mark in rehab

Junk (shin) struck out three and allowed one earned run on five hits and no walks across three innings Saturday in a rehab start for Triple-A Jacksonville.

The right-hander made his second rehab appearance at Triple-A after he was sent to the 15-day injured list May 31 due to right shin bone inflammation. He built up to 61 pitches (37 strikes) in Saturday's outing and averaged 93.8 mph with his four-seam fastball, about a half-tick behind his season-long average prior to landing on the shelf. Per Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com, Junk completed a pitch-design session in front of the Marlins' coaching and training staff Tuesday, and if he checks out fine following that workout, he could fill the opening in the Miami rotation in Thursday's series finale versus the Mariners.

  • Marlins' Jakob Marsee: In Miami lineup Tuesday

Marsee (knee) will start in center field and bat seventh in Tuesday's game versus the Mariners.

Marsee had to be lifted from Sunday's game against the Athletics with a right knee contusion, but he will not have to miss a start, as Miami's team off day Monday evidently afforded the outfielder enough rest. The 25-year-old is slashing a disappointing .192/.316/.296 this season but does have five home runs and 18 stolen bases.

  • Marlins' Xavier Edwards: On base four times Sunday

Edwards went 2-for-4 with two walks in Sunday's win over the A's.

The second baseman somehow came away with no runs or RBI despite being part of a nine-run, 16-hit Marlins attack, but it was still an impressive individual showing for Edwards. He's reached base safely in 25 straight starts dating back to June 6, producing a .289/.378/.333 slash line over that stretch with three steals, eight runs and 15 RBI.

  • Marlins' Esteury Ruiz: Swipes bag Sunday

Ruiz went 1-for-3 with a double, walk, a hit-by-pitch, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 9-8 win over the Athletics.

Ruiz is up to 18 steals on the season, though his cold bat has decreased his opportunities on the bases lately. He has gone just 3-for-17 with one walk and five strikeouts over his last 11 contests, though he still has four steals in that span. The outfielder is batting .244 with an .838 OPS, four home runs, nine RBI, 23 runs scored, eight doubles and one triple over 106 plate appearances this season. Ruiz could get a longer runway in center field if Jakob Marsee (knee) misses time after exiting Sunday's contest early.

  • Marlins' Leo Jimenez: Smacks homer in win

Jimenez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Sunday's 9-8 win over the Athletics.

Jimenez went yard in the third inning off Gage Jump. Jimenez had started July going 0-for-9 over three games after hitting just .205 over 14 contests in June. He continues to occupy a part-time role in the Marlins' infield, and he hasn't shown enough consistency to carve out a larger share of playing time. Jimenez is hitting .202 with a .571 OPS, one homer, six RBI, 10 runs scored, four doubles and a stolen base over 114 plate appearances.

  • Marlins' Otto Lopez: Stays hot Sunday

Lopez went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, a walk, three total RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 9-8 win over the Athletics.

Lopez is sizzling with a trio of three-hit games over his last four contests. He's also homered in consecutive games and has at least one extra-base hit in five of his last eight games. For the season, the shortstop is batting .346 with an .896 OPS, nine homers, 43 RBI, 59 runs scored, 25 doubles, five triples and 17 stolen bases through 89 contests.

  • Marlins' Heriberto Hernandez: Two homers in Sunday's win

Hernandez went 3-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs, a double and two walks in Sunday's 9-8 win over the Athletics.

Hernandez homered in the first and sixth innings. This was his second multi-homer game of the season, and he's hit nine of his 11 long balls since the start of June. The outfielder is batting .234 with a .771 OPS, 34 RBI, 22 runs scored, six doubles, one triple and five stolen bases over 207 plate appearances this season. Hernandez continues to battle with Griffin Conine for playing time in the corner outfield spots.

  • Marlins' Eury Perez: Perfect for seven innings

Perez (5-6) struck out eight over seven perfect innings to earn the win over the Athletics on Sunday.

Perez didn't get a chance to go for history, as manager Clayton McCullough pulled the right-hander at 92 pitches (56 strikes). Lake Bachar then made a mess of things in the eighth inning, and Pete Fairbanks struggled in the ninth, but the Marlins had just enough of a cushion to escape with the win. Perez has allowed just two runs over 17 innings across three starts since he returned from a right gracilis muscle strain. He's at a 3.84 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 89:32 K:BB through 79.2 innings over 15 starts this season. Perez is projected to make his next start at home versus the Guardians.
