Mariners' Mitch Garver: Suffers wrist contusion
Garver left Sunday's game against the Twins in the third inning due to a right wrist contusion, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.
Garver was struck in the right wrist by a 92.7 mph sinker from Joe Ryan in the bottom of the second inning. He then exited the contest in the following frame. With Seattle having an off day Monday, the 33-year-old will have extra time to nurse the injury before Tuesday's series opener with the Orioles.

Mariners' Mitch Garver: X-rays negative on wrist
Garver (wrist) had X-rays on his right wrist come back negative after being hit by a pitch during Sunday's loss to the Twins, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.
Garver appears to have avoided a significant injury after exiting Sunday's contest early. Manager Scott Servais said the team will reevaluate Garver's status following Monday's off day, but the 33-year-old can be considered day-to-day for the time being.

Garver's night was a microcosm of the dichotomy of his first season with the Mariners -- he flashed his power stroke for the second straight night and left the yard for the fifth time in the last 16 games overall, but he also struck out in his other three plate appearances. The veteran offseason addition has impressively knocked 22 of his 39 hits for extra bases, yet the second-highest strikeout rate of his career (30.0 percent) and a .215 BABIP have conspired to generate an anemic .176 average across his first 68 games in Seattle.

Garver's seventh-inning, 400-foot shot to left with Dominic Canzone aboard snapped a 1-1 tie and gave the Mariners their final two runs of the night. The round tripper snapped a brief 0-for-12 skid that had encompassed Garver's last three-plus games, and it marked the veteran's fourth time leaving the yard in the last 15 contests. Garver is carrying a forgettable .200 average across his 75 plate appearances in June, but an 18.7 percent walk rate and nine extra-base hits have helped him to an impressive .830 OPS in that same span.

Garver is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.
Garver and Mitch Haniger seem to have settled into a timeshare at the designated hitter spot of late, and it'll be the latter's turn to start Wednesday after Garver was included in the lineup for Tuesday's 8-5 win. Mariners' Mitch Garver: Productive in Tuesday's win
Garver went 2-for-5 with an RBI fielder's choice, a run-scoring double and another two-bagger in a win over the Guardians on Tuesday.
Garver pushed the Mariners' lead to 4-1 in the third inning with his first two-bagger of the night, which plated Cal Raleigh. The former would eventually lace another double, but his second RBI came on his seventh-inning groundout that brought home Ty France. Garver is still sitting on a profoundly disappointing .179 average but has driven in 13 runs over his last 13 games. That's a stretch in which he's laced eight of his 10 hits for extra bases while posting a .294 average and .929 OPS across 20 plate appearances with men in scoring position.
