    Analysis

    The Phillies got blanked 2-0 on Tuesday, but how about a bounceback with Zack Wheeler on the mound? The team is 14-5 when Wheeler starts; he has a 2.31 ERA in 11 road starts. Even more wild, he’s 4-0 with a 0.65 ERA in five matinees, and the Phillies in day games since the break has an OPS nearing 1.000. Only the Angels score fewer runs at home than the Cardinals. That’s all enough to get us to fade Kyle Leahy, who owns a 1.75 ERA his last seven starts. The Cards are 10-12 overall when he gets the ball.

    Analysis

    This is kind of a strange trend I noticed but I'll go with it for Wednesday's afternoon matinee. In Kyle Leahy's last nine starts for St. Louis, no more than eight runs were scored in any of those games. Leahy has been fantastic for the Cardinals, allowing two or less runs in each of his last eight starts. Meanwhile, Zack Wheeler owns a 2.31 road ERA for the Phillies. Let's ride this Under trend and hope for a pitchers duel on Wednesday at Busch Stadium.

    Analysis

    We’re getting a sizable discount on Zack Wheelers K line likely as a result of his last couple appearances, one being a a short outing due to inclement weather and the other was against the Blue Jays who are the stingiest lineup in the majors. While I don’t rate the Cardinals as an easy matchup, Wheeler certainly is capable of racking up six Ks versus their anemic lineup.

    Analysis

    Shane Baz has pitched well lately, but hasn't received any run support. I expect that to change against Zebby Matthews who is prone to having control issues and giving up plenty of runs. The Orioles offense has shown more promise than the Twins (which isn't necessarily saying much), but more importantly we've got a pitching edge here with Baz over Matthews. Baz has limited offenses to 2 runs or less in each of his last 5 starts and that should be enough to secure a First Five winner.

    Analysis

    Only 5.5 on our board with winds blowing in slightly at Target Field. A few regulars are out on either side in the getaway game and still no Byron Buxton for the Twins but he's close to a return from the IL. Minny's Zebby Matthews is usually a guy I fade but he has a 2.84 home ERA. Baltimore's Shane Baz has allowed three ER or fewer in three straight. No active Twins have homered off him career.
