Tkachuk (rest) won't participate in Ottawa's regular-season finale against Toronto on Wednesday, per Luke Fox of Sportsnet.
Tkachuk has already declared himself good to go for the playoffs, but he'll skip his second straight game Wednesday. The 26-year-old will complete the regular season with 22 goals, 59 points, 71 PIM and 162 hits in 60 appearances in 2025-26.

Tkachuk sat out Sunday's game in New Jersey after managing just 10:25 of ice time in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Islanders. The 26-year-old winger skated on the second line alongside Dylan Cozens and Ridly Greig during Tuesday's practice, and Tkachuk also worked with the No. 1 power-play unit. Tkachuk (undisclosed) left Saturday's 3-0 win over the Islanders in the second period, TSN reports.
Tkachuk tried to return near the end of the second period and at the start of the third stanza, but he missed most of the final frame. He appeared hurt after Islanders defenseman Ryan Pulock's stick made contact with the forward's head or neck. It's unclear if Tkachuk will play against New Jersey on Sunday.

Tkachuk scored a power-play goal Thursday in a 2-1 overtime loss to Detroit. He also had 10 PIM.
The misconduct came after he jawed at Simon Edvinsson in the penalty box. Edvinsson had flattened Tkachuk with a big hit that bloodied the forward's nose. After lighting the lamp for the game's opening goal in the first period, Tkachuk helped break the contest open in the third with a pair of helpers, including one on a power play. Saturday's performance helped him climb back above a point per game in limited action this season. Since Jan. 14, he has six goals, 15 points and 30 shots on net across nine games.
