Browns' Deshaun Watson: Comes up clutch late in upset victory
Watson completed 16 of 30 passes for 144 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions while rushing 11 times for 45 yards in the Browns' 21-18 win over the Panthers on Sunday. He also threw a two-point conversion pass.
While Watson was anything but efficient through the air for the majority of the afternoon, the veteran signal-caller avoided turnovers and fired a pair of key touchdown passes to Harold Fannin, including a game-winning scoring toss with 1:48 remaining on which Watson scrambled to buy himself time before releasing the ball on the run. Watson's mobility also played a key part throughout earlier portions of the game, as he was second on Cleveland in rushing yards with his highest total since Week 9 of the 2020 season while he was still with the Texans (he'd also rushed for 45 yards in Week 1 of the 2023 season). Watson is still clearly a work in progress in head coach Todd Monken's offense, but he appears to have an increasingly firm hold on the starting job heading into Thursday night's Week 4 divisional home clash against the Steelers.

Browns' Harold Fannin: Pair of TDs in win
Fannin brought in seven of nine targets for 51 yards and two touchdowns in the Browns' 21-18 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
The second-year tight end led the Browns in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the afternoon, and he capped off Cleveland's upset victory with a 14-yard touchdown grab at the 1:48 mark of the fourth quarter. The score proved to be the difference in the game, and it was preceded by a two-yard scoring grab just before halftime. After a quiet Week 1, Fannin has come alive with a combined 12-125-2 line on 15 targets over the last pair of contests, affording him plenty of momentum heading into a Week 4 divisional home showdown against the Steelers on Thursday night.

Browns' Quinshon Judkins: Productive in Week 3 win
Judkins rushed 18 times for 70 yards and brought in both targets for nine yards in the Browns' 21-18 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Judkins took all but one of the Browns' running backs' carries, and he was able to capitalize on an injury-hampered Panthers defense to produce his best showing of the new season. Judkins still finished under 4.0 yards per carry, but after averaging under 3.0 in each of the first two games, Sunday's effort was certainly an improvement. Judkins and the surprising 2-1 Browns now have a quick turnaround for a Week 4 home divisional clash against the Steelers on Thursday night.

Browns' Tyson Campbell: Ruled out for Week 3
Campbell (ankle/hip/knee) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports.
Campbell drew the questionable tag for Sunday's home opener after being limited in all three practices during Week 3 prep, but he's not been cleared by medical staff to play against Carolina. As such, Mekhi Blackmon will start at outside cornerback opposite Denzel Ward, and Campbell's next opportunity to play is Thursday against the Steelers.

Browns' Grant Delpit: Officially active for Week 3
Delpit (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports.
Delpit expressed optimism Saturday that he would be available for Week 3 after working through a shoulder issue during practice, and the veteran safety has been given the green light to play. The 2020 second-rounder has eight tackles (six solo), including 1.0 sacks, and one pass defense through two regular-season games.

Browns' Taylen Green: Emergency QB3 vs. Carolina
Green (coach's decision) is inactive but serving as the emergency third quarterback against the Panthers on Sunday, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports.
Because he's serving as the emergency QB3, the rookie sixth-rounder is prohibited from taking the field Sunday unless both starter Deshaun Watson and backup Shedeur Sanders were to leave the game due to injury, illness or ejection.

Browns' Mekhi Blackmon: Starting vs. Carolina
Blackmon will start at outside cornerback against the Panthers on Sunday due to the absence of Tyson Campbell (ankle/hip/knee), Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
Campbell will be held out of Sunday's game while nursing multiple lower-body injuries, so Blackmon and Denzel Ward will be the starting outside cornerbacks for the Browns in Week 3. Blackmon started in 11 of 17 regular-season games with the Colts in 2025 and finished the year with 64 tackles (50 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and seven pass defenses (including two interceptions).
