Top Nuggets News

  • Nuggets' Spencer Jones: Receives qualifying offer

The Nuggets tendered a qualifying offer to Jones on Monday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.

After a quiet rookie season, Jones was thrust into extended action last year due to numerous injuries in Denver. He averaged 22.1 minutes across 64 regular-season appearances, including 37 starts. He shot 50.4 percent from the floor, including 39.6 percent from deep on 2.3 attempts per game.

  • Nuggets' Peyton Watson: Receives qualifying offer

The Nuggets tendered a qualifying offer to Watson (hamstring) on Monday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.

With tons of injuries in Denver last season, Watson broke out, averaging 14.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.1 blocks and 0.9 steals per game on 49/41/73 shooting splits. However, the injury bug also hit Watson, who missed 31 of the Nuggets' final 36 games, including every postseason contest. Given his strong performance, Watson is set for a major raise, assuming he's fully healthy during free agency.

  • Nuggets' Giovanni Emejuru: Agrees to Exhibit 10 deal

Emejuru agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Nuggets on Thursday, Jon Chepkevich of DraftExpress.com reports.

Emejuri played at three different schools before wrapping up his college career at East Carolina in 2025-26. In 31 appearances with the Pirates, the 23-year-old averaged 12.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 1.7 blocks and 0.8 steals across 32.7 minutes per game.

  • Nuggets' Mark Mitchell: Signs Exhibit 10 deal

Mitchell agreed to an Exhibit 10 contract with the Nuggets on Thursday, Vinny Benedetto of The Denver Gazette reports.

Mitchell will look to impress during Summer League after going undrafted. The forward out of Missouri averaged 18.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 33.8 minutes per contest over 33 starts last season.

  • Nuggets' Aaron Nkrumah: Signs with Denver

Nkrumah will sign an Exhibit 10 deal with the Nuggets, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports.

This is a training camp deal for the guard out of Tennessee State. Presumably, the Nuggets are eyeing him for a spot on their G League affiliate.

  • Nuggets' Bryce Hopkins: Heading to Denver

Hopkins was selected by the Nuggets with the No. 49 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.

Hopkins made stops at Kentucky and Providence before spending his final collegiate year at St. John's. He appeared in 37 games for the Red Storm in 2025-26, averaging 13.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.3 blocks and 1.1 steals while shooting 36.3 percent from deep across 28.8 minutes. The 24-year-old is a capable scorer and defender, though his limited athleticism might limit his growth as a professional, at least early in his career. The Nuggets are still a championship-caliber club, considering the team is made up of veterans Nikola Jokic, Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray, among others. As a result, unless Hopkins exceeds expectations throughout Summer League and training camp, he may not see consistent playing time in 2026-27. Still, with Gordon, Murray and Cameron Johnson known for having issues staying off the injury report, Hopkins' services might be needed at some point.

  • Nuggets' Trevon Brazile: Heading to Denver

The Spurs selected Brazile with the No. 35 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft and traded his rights to the Nuggets, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

The Spurs traded the No. 35 pick and two additional second-round picks to the Nuggets in exchange for the 26th overall pick, which San Antonio used to select Tarris Reed. Brazile will head to Denver and provide frontcourt depth. If the team is unable to secure a new deal with restricted free agent Peyton Watson (hamstring), Brazile could have an opportunity to see rotational minutes early in his career, though a consistent role is far from guaranteed. Over 36 outings (35 starts) for Arkansas in 2025-26, the big man averaged 13.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.6 blocks, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals in 31.5 minutes per contest.
