Conley played 24 minutes off the bench in Friday's win over the Rockets, but he won't suit up Sunday. He'll be one of nine Minnesota players who won't suit up in the regular-season finale. Conley is expected to be available once the playoffs start April 18, though.

Before being traded away twice at the deadline and then finding his way back to Minnesota on a one-year deal following the All-Star break, Conley had been a regular part of the Timberwolves rotation. Playing time has been tougher to come by of late for Conley, who has logged just 18 total minutes while seeing the floor in two of the Timberwolves' six games to open their second-half schedule. The Timberwolves seem content to prioritize deadline pickup Ayo Dosunmu and Bones Hyland ahead of Conley as their top guards off the bench.

Timberwolves' Mike Conley: Back with Minnesota
Conley agreed to a rest-of-season contract with Minnesota on Tuesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
The agreement between the two sides happened shortly after he was waived by the Hornets earlier this month, but Conley will officially be added back to the Minnesota roster before the club's next game Friday versus the Mavericks. Presumably, he'll reprise his role as a backup point guard. Minutes may be even tougher to come by for Conley this time around, however, as the Timberwolves acquired Ayo Dosunmu at the trade deadline and have handed him a sizable role on the second unit.

Mike Conley: Expected to return to Minnesota
Conley is expected to re-sign with the Timberwolves, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Conley was traded twice this week, to Chicago and then to Charlotte. However, he was eventually waived, freeing him up to choose his next destination. A return to Minnesota seemed inevitable, so this news does not come as a surprise. For now, it sounds like the two sides are still finalizing the details.

As expected, Conley will never end up making an appearance with the Hornets, after he was acquired Wednesday from Chicago in a deal that also sent Coby White to Charlotte. Once he clears waivers, Conley will be free to join a team of his choosing. The 38-year-old point guard could even head back to Minnesota, but wherever he winds up, Conley will be more of a veteran locker room presence than an on-court asset.

Hornets' Mike Conley: Re-routed to Charlotte
The Hornets acquired Conley and guard Coby White from the Bulls on Wednesday in exchange for guard Collin Sexton, forward Ousmane Dieng, a 2029 second-round pick and two 2031 second-round draft picks, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Conley has now been moved for the second time in as many days after Minnesota flipped him to Chicago on Tuesday. For the time being, Conley will likely slot in as the third- or fourth-string point guard in Charlotte, but the possibility exists that the Hornets could waive him in the aftermath of Thursday's trade deadline.
