Cardinals' Kyle Leahy: Falters late in no-decision
Leahy allowed five runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out eight over five innings in a no-decision against the Reds in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader.
Leahy notched a season-high eight strikeouts and cruised through four scoreless innings before unraveling in a five-run fifth inning that saw him allow two home runs. It snapped a solid stretch to open May for the 28-year-old, who entered the contest having allowed just two earned runs across 16.1 frames during the month. He'll carry a 4.44 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 42:22 K:BB over 50.2 innings this season into a home matchup against the Cubs next weekend.

Cardinals' Kyle Leahy: Cardinals-Reds rained out
Leahy will have his start pushed back after Friday's contest against the Reds was postponed due to inclement weather.

Leahy's control wasn't stellar, as he issued a season-high four walks, but the Padres struggled to string together hits while the right-hander turned in his first scoreless outing of the season. After factoring into the decision in each of his first seven starts (4-3), Sunday marked the 28-year-old's first no-decision of the campaign. He'll carry a 4.31 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 32:17 K:BB across 39.2 innings into his next start, tentatively scheduled for Saturday against the Royals.

Cardinals' Kyle Leahy: Picks up fourth win Monday
Leahy (4-3) earned the win Monday, allowing one run on six hits, two walks and a hit-by-pitch over 5.1 innings against Milwaukee. He struck out five.
The right-hander allowed some traffic but was charged with just one run, which scored after George Soriano allowed an inherited runner to cross following Leahy's exit with two runners on and one out in the sixth inning. Monday marked the first time the 28-year-old exceeded five innings this season, and while his 4.93 ERA and 1.64 WHIP with a 27:13 K:BB across 34.2 innings aren't anything special, he's now picked up four wins and has factored into the decision in all seven starts in 2026. Leahy's next start is tentatively scheduled for Saturday against San Diego.

Cardinals' Kyle Leahy: Logs third win of 2026
Leahy (3-3) earned the win against Pittsburgh on Tuesday, allowing three runs on nine hits while striking out seven across 5.1 innings. He did not issue a walk.
Leahy opened Tuesday's start strongly by striking out the side in the first inning. He kept the Pirates off the board over the next four frames but unravelled a bit in the sixth, giving up three runs on four hits (including home runs from Oneil Cruz and Ryan O'Hearn) before being pulled. Leahy got enough run support from his Cardinals teammates to come away with the win, but the nine hits he yielded were a season high. He sits at a 5.52 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 22:11 K:BB across 29.1 innings and is slated to make his next start next week at home against the Brewers.

Cardinals' Kyle Leahy: Sunk by Marlins
Leahy (2-3) took the loss Wednesday, giving up four runs on eight hits and three walks over five innings as the Cardinals fell 4-1 to the Marlins. He struck out two.
All eight hits off the right-hander were singles as Miami batters played small ball, but Leahy also helped create some of his own problems as he walked home a run in the second inning. He exited the mound after 89 pitches (50 strikes) and has failed to finish six frames in his first five starts of the year. Leahy will take a 5.63 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 15:11 K:BB through 24 innings into his next start, which lines up to come on the road early next week in Pittsburgh.

Astros' Christian Vazquez: Homers in loss to St. Louis
Vazquez went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Friday's 9-4 loss to the Cardinals.
Vazquez got the scoring started for the Astros, taking Kyle Leahy deep for a solo shot in the bottom of the third inning. Three solo homers were the extent of the damage against Leahy. Vazquez has made seven starts this season and has at least one hit in all seven, as he's now slashing .400/.438/.733 with two home runs, 10 RBI, five runs scored and a 2:7 BB:K across 33 trips to the plate.

Cardinals' Kyle Leahy: Strikes out six in second win
Leahy (2-2) picked up the win Friday against the Astros, allowing three runs on five hits and no walks with six strikeouts across five innings.
Leahy served up a pair of solo homers in the third inning and loaded the bases with one out in the fourth, but he was able to strike out both Christian Vazquez and Isaac Paredes to escape further damage. He then allowed another solo shot in the fifth. Leahy's transition from reliever in 2025 to a starter this season has yielded subpar results, as he now owns a 5.21 ERA and 13:8 K:BB through 19 innings. He doesn't possess swing-and-miss stuff and therefore doesn't carry much, if any, fantasy appeal. Leahy's next start should come next week in Miami.

Leahy (1-2) took the loss against the Red Sox on Saturday, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks with two strikeouts over four innings.
Leahy opened with three scoreless frames before allowing two runs in the fourth, but he labored overall, throwing just 41 of 71 pitches for strikes while generating only four whiffs. The 28-year-old now owns eight walks against seven strikeouts on the year to go along with a 5.14 ERA and 1.71 WHIP over 14 innings. The shaky command will likely continue to make it difficult for him to pitch deep enough to consistently pick up victories. Leahy lines up for a road matchup against the Astros next weekend.

Cardinals' Kyle Leahy: Earns first win
Leahy (1-1) earned the win Sunday against the Tigers, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four over five innings.
Leahy worked through traffic all afternoon, allowing at least one baserunner in every inning he worked and needing 97 pitches (54 strikes) to complete five frames. The right-hander was especially inefficient early, laboring through 48 pitches over the first two innings. However, the only damage on the scoreboard came in the third inning on a two-run homer that Kerry Carpenter lifted over the center field wall. While Leahy limited the runs Sunday, he'll need to be more efficient moving forward, especially with a matchup scheduled against Boston for his next start.

Cardinals' Kyle Leahy: Hit hard in loss
Leahy (0-1) took the loss Monday against the Mets, allowing four runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out one over five innings.
Making just his second MLB start, Leahy immediately found himself in trouble, giving up a leadoff triple to Francisco Lindor who eventually came around to score. The right-hander struggled to limit traffic all day, allowing at least one hit in every inning he pitched. While Leahy was able to work into the sixth frame throwing 79 pitches, the constant contact led to dangerous situations throughout the outing and four runs crossing the plate. After starting the final game of 2025, the 28-year-old is now adjusting to a rotation role and will look to find more consistency in his next outing against Detroit.
