Top Bryan Woo News

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Stuck with first loss

Woo (0-1) took the loss Wednesday against the Rangers, allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out two.

Woo pitched well for the most part Wednesday, holding Texas off the board through four innings. However, he'd run into trouble in the fifth, allowing three consecutive one-out hits before giving up a pair of runs on a Connor Joe error. The Rangers would tack on a third run in the frame on a Corey Seager sacrifice fly. While he remains without a win through three starts, Woo's gotten off to another strong start in 2026, allowing just three earned runs on 10 hits and four walks while striking out 17 over 18 innings. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Padres on the road in his next outing.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Allows one hit in no-decision

Woo didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Angels, allowing just one hit and one walk with six strikeouts across seven shutout innings.

The lone hit Woo allowed was an infield single to Oswald Peraza in the third inning, and Woo eventually erased him by picking Peraza off first base. While Woo dazzled across seven scoreless frames, Reid Detmers nearly matched him, holding the Seattle offense to three hits and four walks across 6.2 shutout innings. The game required an extra inning after going scoreless through nine innings. Woo doesn't have any wins to show for his excellent start to the 2026 campaign; he's registered a 1.38 ERA and 15:2 K:BB across 13 innings. His next start is slated to come Wednesday against the Rangers.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Racks up nine Ks over six frames

Woo allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out nine batters over six innings in a no-decision against Cleveland on Saturday.

Woo held the Guardians scoreless through five innings, but Cleveland got to him for a pair of runs in the sixth. That proved to be the right-hander's final frame, and while that sixth inning ended up costing him a chance for the win, he did notch a quality start. Woo tossed 59 of 83 pitches for strikes and racked up a robust 15 whiffs, buoying his case to be considered among fantasy's elite starting pitchers. He's lined up to make his next start against the Angels on the road.

  • Mariners' Bryan Woo: Reaches six innings in final tuneup

Woo allowed one run on three hits while striking out four without a walk over six innings in Sunday's Cactus League win over the White Sox. "Extremely locked in, extremely focused, the intent he has on the mound is next to none, and it's really a big part of what he does," manager Dan Wilson said after the game regarding Woo's performance, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.

Divish notes that Woo induced 11 whiffs, including six with his four-seam fastball, on 73 total pitches (52 strikes) in his fourth and final start of spring training. The pitch count sets Woo up for a relatively normal workload in his 2026 regular-season debut this weekend at home against the Guardians. He is not the ace in Seattle, and in fact it appears he will slot in behind both Logan Gilbert and George Kirby, but Woo has a case as a fantasy ace after a top-five finish among fantasy starting pitchers in his age-25 breakout last season.
