Snell (shoulder) threw 15 pitches in a live bullpen session Saturday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
It was a relatively short session for the veteran southpaw, but this was nonetheless a significant step forward for Snell, as it was his first time facing live hitters since last season's World Series. He still has several obstacles to clear and will almost certainly need to go out on an extended minor-league rehab assignment before joining Los Angeles' rotation. Snell's season debut with the Dodgers isn't likely to take place until at least late May.

Snell (shoulder) is scheduled to throw live batting practice Saturday, Jack Harris of the California Post reports.
Saturday will mark Snell's first time facing live hitters this year as he works his way back from left shoulder fatigue. Although his live session will represent a significant step forward in his recovery, the 33-year-old will likely require a lengthy rehab assignment and isn't expected to make his season debut until late May.

Manager Dave Roberts told reporters Wednesday that Snell (shoulder) will "likely" face hitters once the Dodgers return to Los Angeles from their upcoming six-game road trip, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Snell was limited to bullpen sessions during spring training due to left shoulder fatigue, prompting his placement on the 15-day injured list to open the season. He continues to progress in his recovery, and it looks like he'll start to face live hitters once the Dodgers return from their upcoming road trip that will conclude next Wednesday. Roberts noted to reporters that Snell is on track to make his 2026 debut at the end of May.

The Dodgers placed Snell (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list Monday.
Snell has been working his way back from left shoulder fatigue, an issue that's lingered since last season. He's begun throwing off a mound but will not be ready for his season debut until late May, at the earliest. The Dodgers could eventually shift Snell to the 60-day IL when/if they need a 40-man roster spot.

Snell has been eased along slowly this spring due to a lingering issue with his pitching shoulder. He has begun throwing off the mound but still has numerous boxes to check before being cleared for game action. The Dodgers are playing the long game with Snell, who was terrific when healthy last year, posting a 2.35 ERA and 72:26 K:BB over 61.1 regular-season innings.

Dodgers' Blake Snell: Throws 15-pitch bullpen Thursday
Snell (shoulder) threw a 15-pitch bullpen session Thursday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
All 15 of Snell's pitches were low-intensity fastballs between 87 and 89 mph with the catcher crouched, Snell told Plunkett afterward. It was the left-hander's first time this spring throwing off a mound to a catcher that wasn't standing upright. Manager Dave Roberts said Snell is essentially starting spring training Thursday and will need at least six weeks to get fully ramped up. The veteran left-hander appears poised to make his season debut sometime in early May should he progress without any setbacks.
