Kings' Quinton Byfield: Tallies lone goal in loss
Byfield scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Flames.
Byfield's goal gave him five points over the last three games of the regular season. He also set a career high with his 24th tally of the year, though he was unable to reach 50 points for a third straight campaign. The 23-year-old ends the regular season at 49 points, 180 shots on net, 66 hits, 44 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 79 appearances. Byfield has already started to take on significant minutes, a sign that he could be the heir apparent to the top-line center job that the retiring Anze Kopitar will vacate at the end of the Kings' playoff run.

Kings' Anton Forsberg: Takes loss against Calgary
Forsberg allowed two goals on 20 shots in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Flames.
Forsberg's five-game winning streak was snapped with this result. The loss ultimately didn't matter -- both Edmonton and Anaheim won Thursday, which would have prevented the Kings from moving out of the second wild-card spot. Forsberg concludes the regular season at 16-12-5 with a 2.57 GAA and a .910 save percentage over 36 games. He played better than Darcy Kuemper down the stretch, but it remains to be seen which goalie gets the nod Sunday for Game 1 versus the Avalanche, a series in which the Kings will be heavy underdogs.

Kings' Alex Turcotte: Not available Thursday
Turcotte (undisclosed) has been ruled out ahead of Thursday's clash in Calgary, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.
Turcotte will sit out his eighth straight game with the injury. He has three goals and 11 assists across 62 regular-season games this season. The 25-year-old was selected fifth overall in 2019 and with 13 goals and 30 assists over 162 regular-season games across parts of five seasons in the NHL, Turcotte has to be considered a disappointment.

Kings' Anton Forsberg: Guarding cage versus Flames
Forsberg will be in goal on the road against Calgary on Thursday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.
Forsberg is riding a five-game winning streak during which he recorded a 1.37 GAA and one shutout. The 33-year-old's run of form could see him get the Game 1 start if he puts together another strong outing versus the Flames. If Forsberg does get the nod, he will likely be on a short leash with Darcy Kuemper waiting in the wings.

Kings' Drew Doughty: Garners helper in overtime loss
Doughty notched an assist, two shots on goal, two hits and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canucks.
Doughty ended a six-game point drought with the helper. He's gone 14 contests without a goal, earning five assists, a plus-5 rating, 23 shots, 18 hits and 13 blocked shots in that span. For the season, the veteran defenseman has struggled to the tune of 23 points, 100 shots, 75 blocks, 49 hits, 38 PIM and a plus-4 rating over 71 appearances.

Kings' Adrian Kempe: Tallies again Tuesday
Kempe scored a goal on five shots and added two PIM in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canucks.
Kempe is up to 10 goals over his last nine contests as he finishes the regular season in great form. The 29-year-old is up to 36 goals, 73 points, 224 shots on net, 126 hits, 58 PIM and a plus-15 rating over 80 appearances. If Kempe plays in the regular-season finale Thursday versus the Flames, he's within striking range of matching his career-best 75-point campaign from 2023-24. Most impressively, he's sustained his usual level offense despite his power-play output (12 points) being the lowest he's had in the last six years.

Kings' Alex Laferriere: Goal, assist in overtime loss
Laferriere scored a goal on three shots, added an assist and doled out four hits in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canucks.
Laferriere has a pair of multi-point efforts over his last two games. Going back to March 16, the 24-year-old has earned five goals, nine assists, 45 shots on net and 59 hits over his last 15 contests. The late-season surge has Laferriere up to a career-high 43 points (21 goals, 22 assists) with 207 shots, 254 hits and a plus-3 rating over 81 appearances. He's been effective in a second-line role lately and could be an interesting option in DFS formats during the Kings' playoff run.

Kings' Quinton Byfield: Matches career high in goals
Byfield scored a goal on three shots, dished an assist, added two PIM and logged two hits in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canucks.
Byfield tied the game at 1-1 in the first period and added an assist on an Alex Laferriere go-ahead goal in the second. With five goals and a helper over his last six outings, Byfield continues to impress late in the season. He's at 23 goals -- matching his career high from last year -- and 48 points over 78 appearances this season. He's added 178 shots on net, 66 hits, 43 blocked shots, 46 PIM and a minus-2 rating. Another multi-point effort would get Byfield to the 50-point mark for the third year in a row, assuming he suits up Thursday versus the Flames.

Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Falls in overtime
Kuemper stopped 21 of 25 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canucks.
This was his first start in five games, and Kuemper didn't make a great case for more playing time against the league's worst team. This was Kuemper's fifth defeat (2-1-4) over his last seven appearances, and he's allowed at least four goals in five of those games. On the year, Kuemper is 19-14-15 with a 2.78 GAA and an .891 save percentage over 50 games. The Kings' regular-season finale is in Calgary on Thursday.

Kings' Alex Turcotte: Out of action Tuesday
Turcotte (undisclosed) won't play Tuesday versus the Canucks, Dennis Bernstein of The Fourth Period reports.
The Kings are using the same lineup as they did Monday when they won 5-3 over the Kraken to clinch a playoff spot. Turcotte will miss a seventh straight game, but he's reportedly close to being available, which suggests he could be an option at some point in the first round of the playoffs.

Kings' Darcy Kuemper: Tending twine Tuesday
Kuemper will guard the road goal versus the Canucks on Tuesday, Dennis Bernstein of The Fourth Period reports.
Kuemper will get the nod in the second half of a back-to-back. The Kings are still playing for positioning, so they'd like to get a win, which would also give Kuemper some confidence going into the playoffs. He's 2-1-3 with 21 goals allowed on 146 shots (.856) save percentage) over his last six games, and he's been on the bench for the previous four games as Anton Forsberg helped the Kings secure their playoff spot.

Kings' Adrian Kempe: Pots game-winner
Kempe scored a goal on five shots in Monday's 5-3 win over the Kraken.
Kempe has nine goals and four assists over his last nine outings. The 29-year-old's tally Monday was the game-winner, his career-best eighth GWG of the campaign. Kempe is at 35 goals, 72 points, 219 shots on net, 125 hits, 56 PIM and a plus-14 rating through 79 appearances this season. The Kings clinched their playoff spot with the win, but there's still seeding to sort out, so it's unclear if Kempe or any other regulars will be rested over the last two regular-season games.

Kings' Alex Laferriere: Closes out scoring Monday
Laferriere scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist in Monday's 5-3 win over the Kraken.
Laferriere assisted on Trevor Moore's second-period goal, a tally that gave the Kings a 3-0 lead midway through the game. The Kraken mounted a third-period comeback and were just one goal away from tying the game, but Laferriere closed out the scoring with two seconds left with an empty-netter on the power play. Laferriere has been playing well in recent weeks with 12 points (four goals, eight assists) over his last 14 appearances. He has 41 points on the season, and with two games left on the schedule, he could set a new career-high mark in points if he continues to deliver on offense. He's one point shy of matching the career-high 42-point output he delivered in the 2024-25 regular season.

Kings' Quinton Byfield: Scores twice vs. Seattle
Byfield scored two goals on eight shots and posted a plus-3 rating in Monday's 5-3 win over the Kraken.
Byfield scored the Kings' first two goals -- both were unassisted tallies during the first period. The 23-year-old isn't much of a reliable scoring threat on a regular basis, but he's ending the season on a strong note with four goals over his last five appearances. He's also attempted multiple shots in 10 of his last 12 games, and with that volume, the uptick in scoring numbers isn't all that surprising. Byfield has eight goals and a 22.2 shooting percentage in that 12-game stretch.
