The running back is apparently dealing with a foot injury as the practice week begins for Philadelphia. Shipley carried the ball seven times for 24 yards and caught two passes for five yards in the Eagles' 24-20 win over the Titans last Sunday, seeing an expanded role with Saquon Barkley on the bench for much of the game. Barkley (shoulder) was limited Thursday, and Shipley could play a bigger role again if the starter can't go this coming Monday at Chicago, but that will depend on the Clemson product's status.

Eagles' Will Shipley: Elevated role after Barkley injury
Shipley turned seven carries into 24 yards and caught both of his targets for five yards during the Eagles' 24-20 win over the Titans on Sunday.
Both Shipley and Tank Bigsby operated in larger roles in the Eagles' backfield after Saquon Barkley left in the first quarter due to a shoulder stinger. During that time that Barkley was off the field, Shipley operated as the clear RB2 behind Bigsby, with his seven carries being his most in a game since 2024. If Barkley is not cleared to play in Week 3, Shipley would split the backfield workload with Bigsby.

Shipley recorded two carries for four yards, one catch for eight yards, one kickoff return for 25 yards and one tackle on punt coverage in Sunday's 24-22 win over the Commanders.
The running back actually got more carries than fellow backup Tank Bigsby, but Saquon Barkley unsurprisingly saw the vast majority of work out of Philadelphia's backfield. Shipley can contribute in multiple ways, but he is not a fantasy-relevant running back at this point.

Shipley finished his second professional season with 14 carries for 49 yards and added nine receptions for 56 yards in 15 regular-season games.
While Shipley played nearly twice as many offensive snaps as he did as a rookie, his total touches dropped from 34 to 23. The 2024 fifth-round pick doesn't appear to be viewed as anything other than a depth option by the Eagles, as the team acquired Tank Bigsby from the Jaguars after Week 2 to serve as Saquon Barkley's primary backup.

The Eagles went up by 31 points on the first play of the fourth quarter, a situation which usually leads to some garbage-time touches for running backs lower on the depth chart. Shipley failed to record a single rushing attempt Monday, while playing just seven of the Eagles' 71 offensive snaps.
