  • Rays' Slater de Brun: Recovers from wrist surgery

Single-A Charleston activated de Brun (wrist) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

After recovering from December wrist surgery, de Brun completed a two-week rehab assignment with the Rays' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate. The 19-year-old outfielder was part of Tampa Bay's compensation for trading Shane Baz to the Orioles last winter, and he's gone 10-for-22 (.455) with two doubles, four RBI, three stolen bases and six runs scored over his first seven career minor-league games.

  • Rays' Slater de Brun: Recovering from surgery

The Florida Complex League Rays placed de Brun on the 60-day injured list March 26 as he recovers from wrist surgery, Sam Dykstra of MLB Pipeline reports.

Per Dykstra, de Brun underwent wrist surgery before he was traded from the Orioles to the Rays as part of the return for Shane Baz. It is not expected to be a long-term absence. De Brun will presumably return before the conclusion of the FCL season before heading to Single-A Charleston for the remainder of the season.

  • Rays' Slater de Brun: On move to Tampa Bay

The Rays acquired de Brun, Caden Bodine, Michael Forret, Austin Overn and a Competitive Balance Round A pick from the Orioles on Friday in exchange for Shane Baz, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

De Brun was the 37th overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft and has not yet made his professional debut. The 18-year-old doesn't have power but is known for his hit tool and speed, and he's expected to stick in center field. The Rays will take de Brun's development slowly.
