Turner is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cardinals.
Turner will head to the bench for the first time since July 8 in what appears to be a planned rest day. Edmundo Sosa will receive the starting nod at shortstop in place of Turner, who has been running hot at the plate since the All-Star break with a .298/.337/.585 slash line, seven home runs, one stolen base, 18 runs and 14 RBI in 22 games.

Turner went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during the Phillies' 7-5 extra-innings loss to the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Max Scherzer kept the Phillies off the board through five innings, but Turner changed the momentum in the sixth with a solo long ball off the veteran right-hander. Facing the team with which he debuted back in 2015, Turner produced his fourth multi-hit effort in the last six games as he continues to tear it up after the All-Star break. Over his last 17 contests, the star shortstop has broken out for a .343/.387/.671 slash line with 10 extra-base hits (three doubles, a triple and six homers), 11 RBI and 15 runs, although his one steal over that stretch is likely a mild disappointment for his fantasy investors.

The veteran shortstop has mostly struggled at the plate this season, but he's swinging a better bat as of late. Over 98 plate appearances in July, Turner is hitting .267 with six homers, three doubles, one triple and 14 RBI. For the season, he's still slashing an underwhelming .243/.292/.392 with 15 long balls, 42 RBI, 73 runs scored and 17 stolen bases across 469 plate appearances.

It was the 20th career multi-homer game by Turner, who registered his first such effort of the year and also tallied career homer No. 200 in the process. The five RBI were a season high as well for the veteran shortstop, who's finally starting to pick up some steam at the dish. He's cranked four long balls during his five-game hitting streak, but Turner is still slashing just .246/.296/.396 with 14 big flies, 40 RBI, 17 stolen bases and 68 runs scored over 433 trips to the plate.

Turner went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Tuesday's 8-0 win over the Pirates.
Only three of the Phillies' 12 hits on the night went for extra bases, but Turner had two of them including a two-run homer off Brandan Bidois in the eighth inning. The star shortstop has gone yard in back-to-back games and has hit safely in eight straight, batting .342 (13-for-38) during that heater with three doubles, two home runs, one steal, six RBI and nine runs.

Turner is finally starting to gain some steam at the plate, submitting four straight multi-hit games. Phillies' Trea Turner: Exits early after HBP
Turner exited Thursday's contest against the Mets in the third inning after suffering a right calf contusion, Paul Casella of MLB.com reports.
Turner took a 79.2-mph sweeper from Sean Manaea off his right calf in the bottom of the first inning, and as a result, he was removed from the contest a couple frames later. The shortstop has now been forced out of two of the team's last four games due to hit-by-pitches. In his absence Thursday, Edmundo Sosa has shifted to shortstop while Justin Crawford has entered the lineup in the outfield. More information on Turner's status will likely be provided in the near future.

Phillies' Trea Turner: Back in starting nine Wednesday
Turner (wrist) will start at shortstop and bat leadoff in Wednesday's game against the Marlins.
Though X-rays on Turner's right wrist returned negative after he was hit by a pitch in Monday's 7-0 win in the series opener, the Phillies elected to hold the 32-year-old out of the lineup Tuesday while he dealt with some painful bruising. The day off apparently provided sufficient time for Turner to recover, as he'll slot back into his usual spot in the field for the series finale. Even before hurting his wrist, Turner had been enduring a rough start to the season; he'll take a career-low .594 OPS -- down 218 points from 2025 -- into Wednesday's contest.

Turner (wrist) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Marlins, Paul Casella of MLB.com reports.
The 32-year-old departed Monday's game against the Marlins with a bruised right wrist after being hit by a pitch, and he'll miss at least one start due to the injury. Edmundo Sosa is picking up a start at shortstop Tuesday in the absence of Turner.
