Van Noy indicated he wants to keep playing, though it's unknown if his recent stop in Minnesota will do anything to improve his chances of staying on the field. The 2014 No. 40 overall pick has appeared in 173 regular-season games throughout his career, totaling 561 tackles, 57.0 sacks, 14 forced fumbles, 10 fumble recoveries and four interceptions. However, Van Noy is coming off his worst season in years, finishing the 2025 campaign with just 20 total tackles and two sacks in 15 regular-season games.

Kyle Van Noy: Joins Minnesota's practice squad
Van Noy agreed to sign with the Vikings' practice squad Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of Netflix reports.
Van Noy will reunite in Minnesota with defensive coordinator Brian Flores, who previously coached the edge rusher in New England. The 35-year-old linebacker will provide additional depth to a position group that recently lost Tyler Batty (knee) to a season-ending ACL tear. If Van Noy eventually gets elevated to the 53-man roster, he would likely be part of a pass-rush rotation that includes Andrew Van Ginkel and Dallas Turner.

Van Noy said Tuesday that he does not plan to retire before the 2026 season, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.
Van Noy, now 35 years old, was far less productive for Baltimore in 2025 (20 tackles, 2.0 sacks) than he was in the 2024 regular season (41 tackles, 12.5 sacks). However, even after his 13th year in the league, he's still expressing a desire to suit up for the upcoming campaign. Since his contract with the Ravens expired after last year, he's an unrestricted free agent, but it is yet to be seen if another club will be willing to take a chance on the veteran edge rusher.
