With the latest developments in the Saints bounty scandal -- an audio clip of a 2011 pregame playoff speech from Gregg Williams -- the future of the former Saints defensive coordinator looks even worse.

Many people believe he could (and should) get a lifetime ban. And you certainly could understand why some of the quarterbacks and players who he targeted would feel that way. But at least one of them -- Cardinals quarterback turned NFL Network analyst Kurt Warner -- doesn't feel that way, and believes that Williams deserves "a second chance."
Warner was one of the guys named specifically in the NFL's investigation that Williams' defense targeted, along with Brett Favre, Cam Newton and Aaron Rodgers

It would be absolutely understandable if Warner wanted Williams out of the game forever -- laying an illegal shot on Warner could've done much worse than just cost him a game and/or a playoff win.

But if anyone's equipped to understand second chances, it's Warner. He got the second chance of a lifetime twice, first when he was given a shot to start for the Rams (shortly removed from bagging groceries) and then again when he was given a shot to start for the Cardinals.
