  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Heading to bench Sunday

Eldridge is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta. The Giants will shield the left-handed-hitting Eldridge from a tough lefty (Chris Sale) in the series finale. The freshly activated Heliot Ramos will enter the starting nine at designated hitter while Eldridge heads to the bench for the first time since June 2.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Doubles in win

Eldridge went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's 5-0 win over Atlanta. Eldridge doubled in the second inning before coming around to score, marking his second two-bagger in as many days. The 21-year-old has been struggling at the plate of late, batting .111 with three runs scored across 32 plate appearances over his last eight games. Overall, he's slashing .279/.374/.486 with 22 runs scored, 16 RBI and six home runs in 163 plate appearances this season.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Insurance homer in win

Eldridge went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 7-5 win against Atlanta. Eldridge continued his hot streak with a homer to center field in the second inning, going back-to-back with Luis Arraez to give the Giants a 5-0 advantage. The 21-year-old Eldridge is batting .400 with three doubles, four home runs and 12 RBI through 15 contests in June and is in the midst of an eight-game hit streak.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Keeps power surge going

Eldridge went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-1 loss to the Cubs. Eldridge had all but one of the Giants' hits in the contest. His ninth-inning homer kept them from getting shut out, but that was about the only positive for the home team to take from this game. That's now three straight games with a homer and four straight with an extra-base hit for Eldridge. He is batting .425 (17-for-40) in June, and that's after he ended May with a four-hit game. Overall, he's hitting .316 with a .959 OPS, five homers, 13 RBI, 18 runs scored and nine doubles across 29 contests, with his recent surge making it tough to see him coming out of the lineup for anything other than rest any time soon.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Doubles in defeat

Eldridge went 2-for-5 with an RBI double and a run scored in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Nationals. The 21-year-old has reached base safely in each of his last 15 appearances, batting .392 with 13 runs scored, five RBI, one home run and an 8:11 BB:K in 60 plate appearances during that span. Overall, he's slashing .287/.364/.448 with 14 runs scored, seven RBI and two long balls across 99 plate appearances this season.

Eldridge went 2-for-5 with two runs scored in Friday's 18-3 win over Chicago. Eldridge singled in the fourth inning and came around to score before adding another base hit in the sixth and scoring again. The 21-year-old has delivered multi-hit performances in back-to-back games and has recorded at least one hit in eight consecutive contests, batting .500 with 11 runs scored, five doubles, four RBI and a home run across 33 plate appearances during that span. He's slashing .293/.372/.467 with 13 runs scored, six RBI and two long balls in 86 plate appearances this season.

Eldridge hit an RBI double in the second inning to give San Francisco an early 2-1 lead, albeit in a losing effort. The 21-year-old's two-bagger was just his second extra-base hit of the season. Eldridge has logged at least one hit in each of his last two appearances and is now slashing .156/.229/.281 with two RBI, a run scored and a home run across 35 plate appearances on the campaign.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Will remain in mix for at-bats

Manger Tony Vitello stated Monday that Eldridge will receive a chance to pinch hit in every game that he isn't listed in the starting lineup, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Eldridge isn't in the starting nine for a second straight game, as San Francisco is electing to deploy Casey Schmitt at first base and Rafael Devers in the designated hitter slot for Monday's series opener against the Dodgers. However, Vitello acknowledged that Eldridge will remain in contention for starts, and the club will also utilize his power bat off the bench in late-game situations as needed in an effort to continue his development.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Resting Friday

Eldridge isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Pirates, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Eldridge will pick out a spot on the bench Friday after going 1-for-9 with a walk and four strikeouts over his first three MLB games of the season. Casey Schmitt will slide into the DH spot and bat third.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Starting Monday as DH

Eldridge will start at designated hitter and bat seventh Monday against the Padres, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. After being recalled from Triple-A Sacramento, Eldridge will immediately slide into the starting nine for the series opener, handling the DH spot while Casey Schmitt mans third base in place of a resting Matt Chapman. Eldridge produced a .963 OPS in 137 plate appearances in the minors this season, and he'll look for better results in his second stint in the majors after logging a .476 OPS in 37 plate appearances with the Giants late in the 2025 campaign.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Officially promoted by Giants

The Giants recalled Eldridge from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday. As expected, the 21-year-old Eldridge will join the Giants for the start of their six-game homestand Monday. He was unable to make the team's Opening Day roster, but a return to the majors seemed inevitable after he dominated at the plate in Triple-A with a .333/.445/.518 slash line with five home runs and 22 RBI in 137 plate appearances. Eldridge will look to do better in his second stint in the majors after going 3-for-28 (.107) with four RBI and 13 strikeouts across 10 regular-season games in 2025.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Set to be called up Monday

Eldridge is expected to be called up from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Eldridge will join the Giants ahead of the team's six-game homestand beginning Monday against the Padres. The 21-year-old has been lights-out at the Triple-A level this season, batting .333 with five home runs, 22 RBI and 25 runs scored over 114 at-bats in 30 games with Sacramento. Eldridge struggled in limited action with San Francisco last season, going 3-for-28 with two doubles, seven walks, four RBI and a run scored while striking out 13 times over 10 contests. He'll look to get off to a better start in his second go-around with the big-league club.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Hit machine at Triple-A

Eldridge is hitting .360 with one home run, a 15.9 percent walk rate and a 30.2 percent strikeout rate in 13 games for Triple-A Sacramento. The Giants are last in the majors in home runs hit (eight) and have scored the second-fewest runs per game (3.19) in MLB, per Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline, so Eldridge, who hit 25 homers in 102 minor-league games last year, fills a clear need. They will need to keep Eldridge at Triple-A until early May if they want to gain a seventh year of club control, as he spent the final two weeks of last season in the big leagues as the youngest hitter in the majors. Like many young sluggers, Eldridge will run higher strikeout rates for the foreseeable future, but he's well ahead of schedule and should eventually settle in as a four-category force, especially in OBP leagues.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Homers in exhibition game

Eldridge went 2-for-3 with a home run and a double in Triple-A Sacramento's 2-1 exhibition win over the Giants on Sunday. After being left off San Francisco's Opening Day roster, Eldridge looked sharp in Sunday's tune-up game. The 21-year-old hit a 444-foot home run to center field in the fourth and added a double in the seventh. He'll begin the 2026 campaign in the minors to get more reps at first base and continue working on his plate discipline, but he's likely to earn a call-up at some point this season. Over 19 Cactus League games this spring, Eldridge slashed .225/.380/.450 with eight runs scored, six RBI, one home run and a 9:19 BB:K across 50 plate appearances.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Excluded from Opening Day roster

The Giants optioned Eldridge to Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday, Evan Webeck of the California Post reports. Eldridge posted an .830 OPS with six RBI and eight runs scored through 19 Cactus League games, but 19 of his 40 at-bats resulted in a strikeout. The 21-year-old had been in the running to open the regular season as San Francisco's primary designated hitter, but he will instead report to Sacramento, which will allow him to continue developing his discipline while making regular starts at first base. Now that Eldridge is out of the picture, Jerar Encarnacion figures to be the most likely candidate at DH for the Giants.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Fully recovered from wrist surgery

Eldridge said Tuesday that he's full-go at the start of spring training after surgery in October to remove a bone spur from his left wrist, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Eldridge got a late start to last season after hurting his wrist in spring training, and, after playing with the injury for several months, it was eventually decided an operation was needed. The 21-year-old is tentatively penciled in as the Giants' designated hitter, though he will have to earn that gig with a strong showing during Cactus League play. Eldridge went just 3-for-28 during his brief time with the Giants last season and slashed .260/.333/.510 with 25 homers over 102 games in the minors last year.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Out eight weeks after wrist surgery

Eldridge will undergo surgery to remove a bone spur from his left wrist and is expected to need eight weeks to recover, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. Eldridge got a late start to this season after suffering a wrist injury during spring training. It's unclear how much the wrist might have bothered him throughout the 2025 campaign, but he and the Giants have decided it's best to get it surgically corrected now. Eldridge's availability for spring training is not expected to be affected, and the 20-year-old will have a chance to make the Opening Day roster after getting a cup of coffee late this season.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Taking seat Sunday

Eldridge is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies. Eldridge will close out the season with consecutive absences from the lineup as the Giants go with Rafael Devers at designated hitter and Wilmer Flores at first base. Since receiving a call-up from Triple-A Sacramento on Sept. 15, Eldridge has hit just .115 with a 35.3 percent strikeout rate over 34 plate appearances.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Notches first big-league hit

Eldridge went 1-for-3 with three RBI, a double, a walk and a run scored in Saturday's 7-5 loss to the Dodgers. Eldridge hit a three-run double to left field in the first inning before coming around to score, giving the Giants an early 4-0 lead. It was the 20-year-old's first major-league hit after going 0-for-9 in his first three games. Before being called up to the majors, Eldridge slashed .249/.322/.514 with 63 RBI, 31 runs scored, 18 long balls and a stolen base across 286 plate appearances for Triple-A Sacramento.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Hitless in MLB debut

Eldridge went 0-for-3 with one strikeout in Monday's 8-1 loss to the Diamondbacks. Eldridge, who was promoted from Triple-A Sacramento to make his big-league debut Monday, didn't quite provide the offensive spark his team was looking for, as the Giants were held to two hits on the night. Even so, the 20-year-old slugger should see a healthy dose of at-bats down the stretch of the regular season in either the DH role or at first base while San Francisco fights to earn a postseason bid.
