Braves' Mauricio Dubon: Three hits in Tuesday's win
Dubon went 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in Tuesday's 8-4 win over the Marlins.
The veteran super-utility player got the start in left field and hit second behind a returning Ronald Acuna, and Dubon took advantage of the prime placement. The performance snapped a 2-for-23 skid over his prior six games, and on the season he's slashing .256/.312/.395 with three homers, 20 runs and 26 RBI in 46 contests. Even with Ha-Seong Kim back in action as the starting shortstop as well, Dubon could retain a near-everyday role given his defensive versatility.

Braves' Mauricio Dubon: Getting breather Sunday
Dubon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.
The trip to the bench ends a run of 23 straight starts for Dubon, who struggled to a .599 OPS during that stretch and is currently in the midst of a 1-for-19 slump. The super-utility man's path to playing time took a hit when Ha-Seong Kim made his season debut last week, and it could get squeezed further Monday with Eli White (concussion) expected to come off the IL, though the continued absence of Ronald Acuna (hamstring) should still provide at least semi-regular opportunities in the outfield.

Braves' Mauricio Dubon: Clubs clutch two-run homer
Dubon went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run during Atlanta's 4-1 win over the Cubs on Wednesday.
Mike Yastrzemski gave Atlanta a 2-1 lead with an RBI double in the eighth inning, and on the very next at-bat, Dubon extended the team's lead to three runs with a 383-foot homer to left field. It was Dubon's third home run of the season (first since April 6) and his ninth multi-RBI game. He is slashing .263/.321/.414 with 19 runs scored and 25 RBI across 165 plate appearances this season.

Braves' Mauricio Dubon: Handed day off Monday
Dubon is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.
Jorge Mateo will receive the nod at shortstop while Dubon receives a well-deserved rest after he had started in 19 consecutive games. With a strong .299/.341/.455 slash line through 82 plate appearances on the season, Dubon should remain an everyday player for Atlanta before likely moving into a utility role once Ha-Seong Kim (finger) is ready to return from the injured list around mid-May.

Braves' Mauricio Dubon: Trio of hits in win
Dubon went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 13-1 win over Cleveland.
With Michael Harris on paternity leave, Dubon started Sunday's contest in center field and continued to produce at the plate with a three-hit performance. Through 15 games, the 31-year-old has been among the most productive hitters on Atlanta, slashing .351/.373/.561 with eight extra-base hits, 10 runs and 11 RBI. With such strong play and Ha-Seong Kim (finger) not close to returning from the injured list, Dubon should continue to see regular action at shortstop and around the diamond wherever manager Walt Weiss needs him.

Braves' Mauricio Dubon: Goes yard in Monday's loss
Dubon went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Angels.
His ninth-inning long ball off Chase Silseth didn't impact the final outcome, but it did continue a hot start at the plate for Dubon. The veteran utility player is slashing .333/.368/.556 through 10 games with two doubles, two homers, six runs and seven RBI as he handles starting shortstop duties for Atlanta. Dubon will be hard to remove from the lineup if he's still providing this much offense when Ha-Seong Kim (finger) is cleared to return, but that decision for manager Walt Weiss is likely still about a month away.

Braves' Mauricio Dubon: Pops first homer of year
Dubon went 2-for-4 with a walk, a solo home run and two additional runs scored in Thursday's win over the Diamondbacks.
His sixth-inning homer off Joe Ross was one of four Atlanta long balls in a 17-2 rout. It was Dubon's first time leaving the yard in 2026, but he's come flying out of the gates while handling starting shortstop duties in place of Ha-Seong Kim (finger), batting .429 (9-for-21) with four runs and six RBI in six games.

Braves' Mauricio Dubon: Drives in three runs in win
Dubon went 3-for-4 with three RBI in Monday's 4-0 win over the Athletics.
Dubon drove in a pair with a single in the first inning and added a third RBI on another single in the eighth to stretch Atlanta's lead to 4-0. With Ha-Seong Kim (finger) on the injured list, Dubon has started three of the first four games of the season at shortstop and is 4-for-10 at the plate with a team-leading five RBI.

Braves' Mauricio Dubon: Taking seat Sunday
Dubon is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.
Dubon started at shortstop in the first two games of the season and has gone 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and two RBI. Jorge Mateo will take over at shortstop for the series finale, batting ninth.

Braves' Mauricio Dubon: Drives in two in Atlanta debut
Dubon went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Friday's win over the Royals.
Batting seventh in his Atlanta debut, Dubon supplied the last offense in a 6-0 win with a two-run double in the seventh inning off Bailey Falter. The 31-year-old should be an everyday player at shortstop until Ha-Seong Kim (finger) gets healthy, but Dubon's defensive versatility should make him a fairly regular part of manager Walt Weiss' lineups even after he shifts to the bench. How much offense his supplies in that role is a different question, however. Over the last three season in a super-utility role for the Astros, Dubon slashed .264/.299/.378 while averaging seven homers and 4.3 steals a year.

Braves' Mauricio Dubon: Ready for Opening Day
Dubon went 1-for-3 in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Pirates.
Getting the start at shortstop and batting ninth, Dubon slapped a single to right field to lead off the third inning. The veteran utility player has looked comfortable during his first spring in an Atlanta uniform, slashing .302/.348/.465 over 16 Grapefruit League games with four doubles, a homer and a steal, and he'll begin the year as the starting shortstop while Ha-Seong Kim completes his recovery from January surgery to repair a torn tendon in his finger.

Braves' Mauricio Dubon: Beginning 2025 at shortstop
Dubon will start at shortstop for Atlanta while Ha-Seong Kim recovers from finger surgery, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Acquired from Houston in the offseason to be the team's primary utility player, Dubon will instead see a near-everyday role out of the gate with Kim potentially sidelined into May. Dubon averaged 439.3 plate appearances for the Astros over the prior three seasons, slashing a modest .264/.299/.378 with little power or speed but seeing action at every spot on the diamond except pitcher and catcher.

Braves' Mauricio Dubon: Avoids arbitration
Atlanta and Dubon avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract Friday.
Jon Heyman of the New York Post says the deal is worth $6.1 million. Dubon was acquired via trade from the Astros earlier this week and is tentatively slated to open 2026 as Atlanta's starting shortstop. However, further roster additions could push the 31-year-old to a utility role.

Braves' Mauricio Dubon: Traded to Atlanta
The Astros traded Dubon to Atlanta on Wednesday in exchange for Nick Allen, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Dubon slashed .241/.289/.355 with seven homers, 33 RBI and 43 runs scored across 398 plate appearances in 2025. While he may not be the most formidable threat at the plate, Dubon offers elite defensive versatility. He could see most of his action at shortstop if Atlanta doesn't make any significant offseason acquisitions.
