Orioles' Chris Bassitt: Shows improvement in no-decision
Bassitt did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Giants, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits and one walk with two strikeouts over 4.2 innings.
Bassitt allowed runs in the second and fourth innings and departed one out shy of qualifying for a potential win at 89 pitches. While it was the veteran's best showing of the season, he's now failed to complete five frames in each of his three starts. His numbers remain rough across the board, as he'll carry a 9.00 ERA, 2.36 WHIP and 5:7 K:BB across 11 innings into a road matchup against the Guardians next week.

Orioles' Chris Bassitt: Another dreadful showing
Bassitt (0-2) took the loss Sunday against the Pirates, allowing six runs on six hits and two walks in two innings. He failed to record a strikeout.
Following a disappointing Orioles debut that saw him give up four runs to the Rangers, Bassitt was unable to get back on track. The veteran right-hander exhibited a significant lack of control, launching just 32 of his 62 pitches for strikes while laboring his way through only two frames before Baltimore pulled the plug. It's worth mentioning he did sign with the O's fairly late in the offseason, so Bassitt could still be shaking off some rust. He was also hit by a line drive from Oneil Cruz in the second inning Sunday but was able to stay in the game, and his next outing tentatively lines up to take place against the Giants next weekend.

Orioles' Chris Bassitt: Struggles in debut
Bassitt (0-1) took the loss Monday against the Rangers, allowing four runs on six hits and four walks while striking out three in 4.1 innings pitched.
All of the damage done against Bassitt came in the first two innings of his Orioles tenure. He allowed one run in the first inning on a fielder's choice, but the crushing inning was the second. Three hits, two walks and a sacrifice fly contributed to the Rangers plating three runs in the frame and jumping out to a 4-0 lead that the Orioles would not be able to recover from. The 37-year-old will look to find better success in his next outing, scheduled for Sunday against the Pirates.

Orioles' Chris Bassitt: Slated for Orioles debut next week
Bassitt is scheduled to make his Orioles debut March 30 against the Rangers, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
The Orioles will roll out Trevor Rogers, Kyle Bradish and Shane Baz in their opening series versus the Twins before Bassitt and Zach Eflin round out the rotation. Bassitt's final spring training tuneup will come Monday against the Nationals when he follows Baz. The 37-year-old Bassitt holds a 2.51 ERA and 9:8 K:BB over 14.1 innings this spring.

Bassitt finished the 2025 regular season with a 3.96 ERA and 1.33 WHIP across 170.1 innings, and he'll now head to Baltimore to help bolster an Orioles rotation that finished the year with a 4.65 ERA (seventh worst in MLB). The 36-year-old righty has made at least 30 starts every year since 2022 and posted an 8.8 K/9 last season while ranking in the 85th percentile in average exit velocity allowed.
