Miami waived Brown (undisclosed) from its injured reserve list with an injury settlement Tuesday, Alain Poupart of SI.com reports.
Brown was going to have to spend the entire 2026 season on IR, but he'll now become a free agent instead, presuming he passes through waivers. His only regular-season action so far has come with Green Bay, where he suited up for two games in 2024.

The Packers hosted Brown (chest) for a workout Tuesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Brown spent training camp with the Packers but suffered a collapsed lung during Green Bay's second preseason game against Indianapolis in mid-August. He was waived by the Packers with an injury settlement in early September, but the 25-year-old safety has progressed enough in his recovery to work out for teams. Further tests showed a lung injury, and he'll remain in the hospital to be monitored for a second-straight night, though there's optimism that he'll rejoin the team in Green Bay on Monday. An exact timeline for Brown's return is uncertain, but he's facing an uphill battle to be available for the Packers' regular-season opener against the Lions on Sunday, Sept. 7. An extended absence for Brown would open the door for Kitan Oladapo to make the Packers' 53-man roster at the end of training camp.
